Expectations for Students

Participate in all online work. Work harmoniously with group

members. Turn in assignments on due dates. Group leaders prepare final group

work to be presented to instructor. Students are to get their work to

group leader ahead of time before assignment is due.

Expectations for Students in Groups

Each group member is to communicate with the group leader and other members regularly.

Groups are to plan how they will do projects that is equitable among all members.

All projects done by the group are original.

All projects posted to Livetext.

Group Work

4 members: leader, recorder, editor, technology leader

All students are expected to do equitable work for the group.

All group members are expected to read the final draft of assignments.

All group members are expected to be actively involved in all assignments.

Group Work

Develop a plan within the group for doing assignments.

First, look at assignment. Look at rubric for grading Divide the work among group

members Search Internet and do extensive

research

Group Members

Group leader: leads group. Recorder: Keeps records of all group

discussions and shares with group Editor: Collects materials from other group

members and edits assignments Technology leader: Sees that appropriate

technology used for assignments as needed.

All students provide professor responsibilities of all group members on first class session.

Responsibilities of each student

To do a Library Media Portfolio for all your assignments. (Everrything you do in the class is to be posted on Livetext.)

To do a blog for communication. To learn how to post an assignment

on Livetext so the professor can see To practice getting into Wimba before

the first class.

Written Reflective Summary: Due June 27

Evaluation for Group Members: Due after each project

Project 1.1 Participation

Students are expected to participate in all assignments and to post them on Livetext on time.

All assignments are posted on Livetext by each student, not just your part.

Project 1.2 Three-Year Media Program

This 3-year plan can be developed from presentations in class, or from those researched by your group.

See list of ideas under the assignment and then do research.

Describe the programs in one paragraph each.

List name of media specialist when appropriate.

Include a three year timeline for implementing your plan.

Project 1.3 Public Relations Brochure

Brochure to be a public relations instrument for your media center, or,

An event to take place in the media center.

Due: June 20 Handout to be e-mailed to each

classmate & professor prior to presentation.

Project 1.4 Reading or Literature Promotion

Design and conduct a reading or library promotion or activity in your school.

Addresses actual goal in your school

Must be approved by the professor.

Professionalism

Expectation that students treat colleaguesand professor with respect in and out of

classroom. Threatening professor or classmates

will not be tolerated. Display a positive attitude

Professionalism Shown By:

All interactions in class and online are done in a positive manner.

Collaborating and working equitably. Active participation in each project. Turning in assignments on time. Keeping in touch with group

members. Eliminating interruptions in classes

using Wimba.

Consequences of Being Nonprofessional

Students who display nonprofessional behavior will be contacted by the professor immediately when violation occurs.

2nd violation—Student may be dismissed from program for 1 year.

Academic Honesty

Students are expected to do original work.

When using work from others (even classmates) cite that information in references.

Students violating academic honesty will be given F on the assignment and an F in the course.
