New Residents
Please allow me to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of
you. It is my pleasure and a privilege to be part of The Hampton
Team!
This position offers new and exciting challenges to me, all of which I
am looking forward to.
Property management has been my passion and career for many years.
Prior to joining The Hampton, I managed another CHDC apartment
community in Clearwater. Now, I am excited about this new position
and getting to know all of you. My goal is to help you relax and enjoy
your community!
I look forward to having the opportunity of chatting with each of you
over the next several weeks. Happy to be on board!

Smile as soon as you wake up,
you will be in a good mood for
the rest of the day.
I got a job at a bakery because I
kneaded dough.
Start each day like it’s your
birthday.
Venison for dinner again? Oh
deer!
Your day will go the way the
corners of your mouth turn.
Velcro—what a rip off!
Your are somebody’s reason
to smile.

In an effort to recognize and reward the effort of our dining servers, the Hampton will now accept tips to be
distributed evenly to the serving staff each calendar quarter. Per our policy, only floor servers will be eligible for tip distribution. A drop box has been installed in the wall to
the left of the Activity Office door, where you can deposit gratuities in the form of cash or check made
payable to “The Hampton at Clearwater”. No need to put it into an envelope as it is deposited into a locked box.
Please open the box by pulling the handle out and down.

The aroma of coffee can pump you
up and counteract the stress caused
by sleep deprivation.
Lemon scent can not only lift your
mood, but also heighten mental clar-
ity, energize you, and increase stam-
ina.
The refreshing smell of grapefruit
can increase memory and improve
hand-eye coordination.
Eucalyptus promotes alertness and
can often invigorate the senses.
Cinnamon spice improves mood and
concentration. It can even make peo-
ple act more kindly, according to a
study sponsored by Cinnabon.
Peppermint fragrance is revitalizing
and can enhance physical perform-
ance. Peppermint scent can also re-
lieve pain, indigestion, nausea, and
headaches.
The smell of flowers sprayed around
the bedroom before sleep will result
in more positive dreams than un-
pleasant smells or no fragrance at all.
The fresh fragrance of flowers often
makes people feel cheerier and more
energetic, perhaps from a combined
effect of seeing and smelling their
beauty.
Natural citrus scents increase oxygen
flow to the brain, boost energy, and
increase immune function.
The scents of jasmine, vanilla, laven-
der, or chamomile-scented lotion,
oils, or candles can help to calm and
relax your body and improve your
sleep.

Is back on for the
month of June in the
Great Hall. Come and
kick up your heals!
J
My parents, Anthony & Marie, were born in
Italy and came to New York in 1920, mar-
rying in 1924. I was born in August,1925
and grew up in Corona,Queens. After com-
pleting elementary school, I attended a trade
school in New York City, graduating in
1943. I then went to work as a ladies cloth-
ing operator.
In 1946, I met my husband Ray in a bowl-
ing alley. We were married June 22, 1947.
All the important things in my life hap-
pened on 6/22. Six and two are my lucky
numbers!
I have two children, Anthony and Ray Ann. They have given me 3 grandchildren.
Upon retiring twenty six years ago, we moved to On Top Of The World. Enjoying our retire-
ment, my husband fell ill and passed away in 2008. Last month, I moved here to the Hamp-
ton.
I would like to wish the staff that have helped me, health, happiness, and love.
Thank you, Ann De Prisco
QUICK TIP :
Need to find out if the eggs in your refrigerator are fresh?
Put cold water in a deep bowl and add the eggs gently. The ones
that sink to the bottom of the bowl are fresh and the eggs that float
are not.
Another tip for eggs: To see if an egg is hard cooked or not,
spin it on your counter. If the egg wobbles, it’s an uncooked egg
but if it spins smoothly, it’s a hard egg.
Joe was born in 1926 and spent his childhood during the Great Depression.
He attended public schools in the Bronx, New York and high school in
Manhattan. Joe graduated from a technical high school, majoring in
machine shop and drafting. While in high school, he worked a part time
job as a copy boy for the New York Daily News.
When World War II started, Joe enlisted in the Army Air Corps program
and was later sent to basic training. Waiting to be called to service, he took
a defense factory job in the engineering department working as a junior
draftsmen. The company was involved in producing 75 mm recoil mecha-
nisms for the Army. Joe was called to duty for the Air Corps in January
1945. He attended basic training at Keesler Field in Mississippi. After
basic training, he attended aircraft mechanic school. Joe was assigned to
work on planes at Keesler Field and was put on flying status, becoming
Crew Chief on a B-25 for training flights. In addition to the B-25, he has
flown in many different aircrafts such as the B-17, B-24, and C-47. His
first plane was a Catalina flying boat. Joe’s last assignment was caring for
an AT-6 single engine trainer and the young pilots using the plane for flying
time. In October 1946, Joe was honorably discharged.
Joe started a new career in the Industrial Arts Program for Teachers at New
York University. During this time, he was reintroduced to Sue, whom he
had known since childhood. Sue was in high school and was majoring in
business. She had developed into a lovely young woman. Sue volunteered
to help Joe with his college term papers and they became good friends. Joe
and Sue finished school around the same time and started their new careers.
Sue took a job as a secretary for the Air Force and Joe got his first teaching
job with the Board of Education in New York City. In 1953, they married
and soon were blessed with four lovely children, Greg, Chris, Diane and
Lori.
Joe and Sue have been happily married for sixty years and enjoy living here
at the Hamptons.
