My Dear Number One Parish Family,
I cannot thank each and every one enough for the
special day we had and enjoyed together last
Sunday for our annual Parish Thanksgiving
Buffet. The exceptional food by the kitchen
volunteers, the amazing and fraternal spirit from
all the Parish family from the youngest to the
most senior members were a true blessing for me
and I pray it was the same for you.
All these good things we enjoy each year at this
thanksgiving time comes about from the generous
providers, the Labibidi Family. And so to our
faithful and generous benefactors, to all our
generous workers in the kitchen and in the dining
hall, to all the generous guests who made great
offerings for the meals, to all our bright and
beautiful children who assisted in leading the
prayer before our meal, to our most honored
guest Santa Clause, I say thank you all very much
and know that I pray to God in thanksgiving for
you all.
One more thought comes to my mind as I express
to you my loving appreciation. I kind of think the
experience of last Sunday may have a small
resemblance to what it may be like when we are
all together with our Lord in our Heavenly Home.
There we will be as one family and the love we
have now will just increase beyond what we can
measure. Being all together last Sunday at the
Holy Liturgy and then gathered around the table
in the Banquet Hall with the peace and the being
together as a family made me think about what
Heaven could be like.
May God always bless this Parish Family.
Saint Catherine Laboure
Feast Day ~ Thursday, November 28
At the age of 22 she lived in Paris where
she worked as waitress in a lunch room.
After 1 year she moved to be with
Madame Hubert Laboure who would
encourage Catherine’s father to allow
her to pursue her religious calling.
She entered the Sisters of Charity of
St. Vincent de Paul. Then in 1830 she
moved to the Motherhouse on rue du Bac
in Paris. Her joy in this life was so great she
said it made her feel like she was no longer
on earth.
From her early days of formation she experienced visions from Our Lord each day in the
Blessed Sacrament.
On the night of July 18-19, 1830 Sister Catherine Laboure saw for the first time the Mother
of God.
While asleep a young girl called her to get up and go to the Chapel where the Blessed
Virgin Mary was waiting for her. When she came to the chapel she found it brightly lit up
as if for a midnight Mass.
At this first visit Our Lady gave her several messages. At that time in history France was in
great crisis and the times ahead were dark and filled with suffering for everyone. The
situation of this great suffering was so terrible, St. Catherine could see the pain and
sorrow on Our Lady’s face. The many warnings Our Lady told to St. Catherine came to
pass beginning only one week later.
Our Lady chose St. Catherine for a mission to have a religious medal made that would
be well known in time as the Miraculous Medal. Its design came from Our Lady Herself
and She proposed that it be worn around the neck
The image on the front would have an image of Our Blessed Lady standing with Her
hands outstretched with rays coming from Her fingers representing the out pouring of
graces. She is seen standing on a round globe representing the world with the year 1830
engraved on in. See the images of the front and back of this special medal. Notice the
words of Our Lady engraved all around the edge.
This religious medal did what Our Lady promised, thousands and thousands of persons
everywhere received healings and conversion from the graces attached to it. Obtain
and wear a Miraculous Medal all the time.
Just a few weeks remain to collect ACME RECEIPTS!
Holiday grocery trips can add up fast so PLEASE drop your current ACME grocery receipts in the box in our foyer and we will do the rest!

ABOUT THE NINE DAY CHRISTMAS NOVENA
Beginning Sunday, Dec. 15 – Monday, December 23.
Devotions each night at 6:30 pm.
The truly greatest gift for Christmas, spiritually
speaking, is our Christmas Novena inspired by our
Maronite Tradition where we come to church for 9
days before the Holy Feast Day and ask our Holy Lord
in the Blessed Sacrament for spiritual gifts. Each night
we repeat our request for things like a virtue to love all
in the human race, to ask for the virtue to not be
attached to the goods of the world, to stay obedient to
God and all His laws. The traditional hymns we chant
such as Arsala Allah Ebenahu el wa heed, in English,
From heaven God sent His Only Son, are most
meaningful for this time of preparation and
anticipation.
Make plans to attend. Plan to bring all the family.

PARISH CENSUS 2020 MATTERS OF IMPORTANCE
-Thank you to everyone who has responded to the Parish Census 2020 so far.
-It is very important to our Parish and to me that everyone cooperate in this project as soon as
possible.
-All members of the Parish age 18 and older are asked to complete a census form. We have lots of
extra forms for your use.
-In addition to the Parishioner completing the form, you need to include phone numbers of the
spouse and other family members at home ages 18 and older. This is very essential.
-We have a special committee to help with this project. They will review each form along with me
and if there is need for more information one of these members will contact you.
-Thank you everyone for your helpful cooperation in this project. Please realize that this is essential
for our records at this time.
