THE MIRACULOUS CHALICE OF ST. PADRE PIO We will welcome the use of a miraculous
chalice of St. Padre Pio on Sunday, July 1 at
both Liturgies.
A special note for your information,
Subdeacon Paul Boulous had the privilege of
bringing this chalice to Lebanon for his visit.
There were so many requests for the visit of
this Chalice he had to visit two churches on
the same day and many visitors were in
attendance. Please invite friends and
neighbors to come with you to church on
Sunday July 1.
Let’s learn something about the
Apostles of Jesus Christ.
Do we actually know their names?
Who were they?
The Holy Apostle St. Thomas
The Holy Apostle St. Thomas was born a
Hebrew but he died a martyr’s death as one of
The 12 men privileged to follow Jesus as His
Apostle. He is a well -known Apostle and he is a
beloved Saint to many.
When Jesus was on a journey and He received a word about His close friend
Lazarus being very ill He began a return back to Judea.
As the scriptures tell us, the Apostle Thomas expressed concern for the Lord’s safety
as tensions were growing and a threat for His life was so real and so Thomas urged all the
Apostles to return with Him and if necessary die with Him.
This Apostle St. Thomas, at the time of the Last Supper said to the Lord “how do we
know the way?” The well- remembered response from the Lord to Thomas was, “I am the
Way, the Truth and the Life.”
The greatest memory of this Apostle is at the time the Lord was risen from the dead
and he was the only Apostle who did not get to see Him. His famous words were “unless I
put my hand into His side I will not believe.” It was so important to Jesus that He returned
and when St. Thomas put his hand in the side of Jesus he became a believer and a truly
great witness to Jesus risen from the dead.
After Pentecost when all the Apostles were anointed and filled with the Holy Spirit
St. Thomas made his way as far east as India bringing the faith to the Malabar Coast. The
faithful in this region identify themselves as the Christians of St. Thomas the Apostle.
His martyrdom is described as being speared to death at a place called Calamine.
His Feast Day is on July 3.
All of us needs to learn the truths of our Holy Catholic Church well so we too can be like the
Apostles and go out and teach everyone so they can believe in Jesus who is our Holy Lord
the Promised One. Everyone should know who Jesus is.
+ + + + + + + + + + + +
As we learn about the Apostles of Our Lord Jesus may we want to know more about them
and may we grow to love as they loved and live our Christian life the way they did which
may include giving our very life for the Lord if we have to.

SOME GOOD REASONS WE CONDUCT
OUR ANNUAL FOOD FESTIVAL
1. We take the opportunity to share our beautiful
heritage with everyone in our area. Each year
we get supper positive feedback from our many
visitors.
2. This Parish Event brings our Parish Family of
all ages together to work with each other and
enjoy being together for these very busy days.
3. The income from the Annual Lebanese Food
Festival helps with the regular expenses almost
each month. Without the Festival income we
would have a terrible struggle.
The Parish needs the income from this event. All
Parishioners are encouraged to help as much as
possible.
- A big thanks to all parishioner volunteers
for your over the top response to helping
prepare food and baked goods for our
upcoming Festival. You work so very well
together and your loving spirit is beautiful.
- Another very big thanks to all the
members of the Ladies Guild for all you
did to make the celebration of Father’s Day
the best. Thank you for the great dishes of
food. The presentation and the menu was
award winning. Thank you.
- Thank you to all our Dad’s. You all make
great Fathers for your families and for our
Parish Family as well. My loving prayers
are with you daily.
