CorrespondenceLinear frequency coded sequences (l.f.c.s.)

In the early 1970s, I was employed at LoughboroughUniversity where, among other things, I was involved inresearch on phase coded pulse train signals, suitablefor pulse compression systems. Part of this work wasdone with the help of Mr. C.N. Oligboh, who was employedat Loughborough University as a Research Assistant, working under my supervision.

I was sorry to see that the August 1980 issue containeda paperA, under the above title, on the work done atLoughborough, which Mr. Oligboh had prepared and sub-mitted under his name and mine, entirely without myknowledge and consent. Had I been asked, I would havebeen pleased to participate in the preparation of a paper. As it is, the published paper contains a number of errors.Even the affiliation is wrong; I left Loughborough Uni-versity in 1973 and Mr. Oligboh left there soon after.
