NUMERACY ACTIVITIES
Mental Maths (ACMNA076): We are learning our 9 times tables. Use the strategies learnt in the last two weeks to complete Thursday column of Mental Maths Worksheet. Problem Solving (ACMNA078) We are learning to solve a word problem involving fractions using the RUCSAC approach. Read the problem solving card and try to solve the problem using the RUCSAC method (see RUCSAC pdf). If you wish, try the extension activity. Assessment Complete Fraction Assessment: Counting by Fractions. Please attempt the assessment on your own. LITERACY ACTIVITIES Spelling (ACELA1779), (ACELA1780) & (ACELA1828) We are learning the ‘u’ sound. Write your words in word pyramids. For example, chief would be c – ch – chi – chie - chief. Handwriting (ACELY1696) We are learning to correctly form the letters g, h and i. Log-in to Soundwaves and click on Writing Time to see the formation of letters g, h and i. Carefully look at the way these letters are formed. Complete a line each of the upper case and lower case versions of the letters g, h and i. Writing (ACELY1694 &1695) We are learning how to write a procedure. Watch the following video https://youtu.be/xvGeBcfysDo as it explains what a procedure is and why they are important. Using the Handwashing Procedure Template, and the WBPS text structure of Title, Aim, Materials, Method, Ending (see Procedure Text Structure Poster), create a step-by-step procedure for washing your hands. Remember to list the materials needed and to break-it up into easy to follow instructions.

Try singing it through faster and slower. Practise it several times throughout the week, as you are going to use it to make an arrangement next week. Using the worksheet and a dictionary, define the music terms that we use in this song. Take a photo of your work and upload it to ClassDojo.
