Why have safety rules in the lab? To avoid accidents and injury.
The rules alert you potential hazards like dangerous chemicals or open flames.
To maintain experimental accuracy and reliability. Keeping lab stations clean helps ensure
that the experiment stays accurate and doesn’t get contaminated.
Safety Rules:
1. Read ALL lab instructions thoroughly before beginning the lab.
2. Know the location of safety equipment (eye wash station, safety shower, etc.).
3. Tie back long hair.4. No loose-fitting clothing and hanging
jewelry. Wear closed-toed shoes and long pants.
5. Report any accidents to the teacher immediately!
Safety Rules:
6. No food, drink, or gum in lab.7. No applying makeup in lab.8. Keep work station neat and clean.9. Wear goggles as directed.10.Contact lenses are prohibited. Bring
your glasses instead.11.Take care using sharp instruments.12.Never cut objects while holding
them in your hands.

13.Never taste or smell any chemical.14.Never mix chemicals without
express instruction.15.Keep your hands away from
face/mouth during lab.16.Always wash your hands prior to
leaving the lab.17.NO horseplay in the lab.
Lab Contract: A contract is an agreement. By signing this contract, you agree obey all
lab rules and procedures. If you break any of the lab rules, you will be
dismissed from the lab, given a zero for the assignment, and face potential disciplinary action depending on the offense.
Keep your signed lab contract in the first section of your notebook behind your syllabus.
