Marisa Di Pietro is back from a month long vacation to Italy. Who can afford to go to
Italy for a month you ask? Answer – someone who stays with their mother and doesn’t
have to pay for room & board! ☺

INSTALLATION: The official installation of new officers and board of directors for
administrative year 2011-2012 was held on Tuesday September 6th
. Ed Coletta thanks all
of the club members for attending the banquet. It was a great turn-out and an excellent
evening where we installed the new officers, swore-in three new members and honored
our old friend and long-time Kiwanis member Angelo Fiantaca. See photos below
Clark Moulaison thanked everyone for supporting the Main Street’s September 2011 “Countdown to
Kindergarten Parade” - 330 backpacks were given out to preschoolers graduating to Kindergarten!
ATTENTION! President Ed Coletta announced that the new meeting schedule kicked off with
the 2011-2012 administrative year on October 1. The schedule is as follows: regular club
meetings on the first and third Tuesdays at 6 p.m. at Spinelli’s and there will be speakers for
those meetings. The board meetings will now be held on the second Tuesdays of the month; no
regular meeting will be the 2nd
Tuesday of the month. A community service project will be held
on the fourth Tuesdays of the month; no regular meeting will be held the 4th
Tuesday of the
month.
President Ed Coletta announced that we need both guest speakers for the dinner meetings and community service
project ideas for the months follow, so please pass along your speaker suggestions to Dr. Matt Mallen, and your
service project ideas to President Ed.
President Ed Coletta gave a report on the club’s attendance at the Revere Kiwanis Club installation and 80
th
Anniversary Banquet. Our club had more attendees than any other Division 14 club (except Revere, of course): Ed
and his wife Nina, Clark and his wife Carmela, Rosalie Petralia, Buddy Mangini, Dr. Matt Mallen, Joe and Pam
Panzini, Carol Simpson, and Mike Moscone. Our table also hosted old friend Al Terminiello, who is running for
City Council in Revere.
Buddy Mangini gave a report on the East Boston High School Key Club barbeque, which went very well as more
than 35 students attended the event. Joe Panzini was the main chef during this event.
President Ed Coletta announced that the New England District of Kiwanis Fall Training Conference for our
division will be held Friday-Sunday, Nov. 18-20 at the Radisson Hotel at Plymouth Harbor. A number of club
members, Ed, Buddy, Marisa, Clark and Bill may be attending.

Mike Moulaison’s son Matthew is a youth hockey goalie and he back-stopped a 4-2 victory over Marblehead
Dennis Boseman announced that Dolores Tenerini, who is a member of Grace Church and well-known from Betty Ann’s
Bakery, has passed away. Dennis also thanks the East Boston High School Jr. ROTC for helping with the food drive
Bill Chisholm was involved in a ceremony at the Statehouse honoring Jewish rabbis who were killed in action; a plaque will
be dedicated in their honor
Clark Moulaison’s son Clark earned a certificate from Boston University for digital imaging
Dr. Matt Mallen’s friend, Joe McPherson, celebrated his 60th Birthday
Ed Coletta’s sister, Teresa Rand, celebrated her birthday
Paula LoPera requested a birthday song for her own birthday on Oct. 12
Mary Jane Barber requested birthday songs for her brother Paul, nephew Kenneth, and a wedding anniversary
acknowledgment for her nephew Paul Barber and his wife Amy
Buddy Mangini suggested that with the passing of Delores Tenerini from the Grace Church donations in her name be made
to the food pantry
Carol Simpson announced that East Boston Savings Bank will hold its employee auction fundraiser on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at
the Holiday Inn in Woburn. The money raised goes to local charitable organizations, such as the East Boston Social Centers
