Lucky Dog

A pet friendly location discovery app for those loving dog parent who wants to bring their furry babies to restaurants, parks, beach… pretty much anywhere they can.

Why am I doing this?

Original Problem Statement:

The problem I suspect is that there is a gap between animal shelters who needs volunteers and people who are willing to help but they’re not aware of the local opportunities to participate.

Sha H.29, has one dog. Sales at Oracle.

Willing to help, but with her busy work, she can only help on a quarterly basis.

Finding her dog pet friendly places is a pain.

Justin T.35, has one dog. PM at Uber.

Would be open to volunteer on a monthly basis. Prefers to donate.

Finding his dog a nice and clean dog park is always an important thing to Justin.

Xiaoyi X.28, has one dog. UX at Airbnb.

Would be open to volunteer on a monthly basis. But realistically donating would be a better fit to give back to the community.

Finding pet friendly restaurants are tough.

Katherine S.37, has two dogs. Auditor at EY.

Would be open to volunteer on a bi- weekly basis.

Taking care of two dogs in public could be challenging.

Findings

● Interviewees are all willing to volunteer. However, a lot less frequent compared to my original assumption.

● They all brought up similar point that it’s hard to commit consistently. Some of them prefer to donate.

● They all have similar challenges when it comes to finding dog friendly places. The experience definitely could be improved.

The problem I suspect is that it is difficult for pet owners to accurately find pet friendly places around them.

Frustration Apps She Uses

Can’t easily find new places to bring her dog to.

Many occasions she arrives at a place to only find out it’s not pet friendly.
