Development Manager - Full Time
Salary: £21,840 per annumHours: 35 per week flexibleExpenses: Travel expenses paid at 0.45p per mile
Background
The Wayland Partnership Development Trust is a Community Partnership which has, over the past eighteen years, delivered in the region of £3 million of economic, social and cultural projects in the rurally deprived area of Norfolk that it serves. This has included a range of European funded projects to refurbish the High Street, support parish schemes and develop Tourism. It also enabled the partners to purchase Wayland House which is home to Partnership Staff, a number of tenants, some virtual tenants, visiting services and the Dragonfly Gallery and Visitor Centre.
Key Role :
Working as a part of a team to help deliver the Vision and Aims of the Wayland Partnership, in particular by promoting the economic, social, cultural and environmental well-being of the Wayland Communities and Businesses
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Discover the rich diversity of the Wayland area and its community, identifying individuals, groups and businesses within the area, in Norfolk and beyond, with whom the Partnership may be able to work.
2. Meet with Partner Representatives and develop relationships with Partners.3. Establish contact with the Wayland Schools, Youth Groups and Youth Providers and support the development
of local youth projects including intergenerational projects.4. Identify and develop opportunities for Learning and Training for businesses and community.5. Support and work with artists and craftspeople to develop the exhibition and workshop programme 6. Manage existing Partnership Projects and events7. Identify and develop new funding streams to support Partnership Activity. 8. Organise and Co-ordinate meetings when needed.9. Report regularly to the Trustees and to the Partnership Representatives Group at their bi-monthly meetings10. Work as part of a team with colleagues, volunteers and trustees to manage the day to day running of Wayland
House.11. Line manage Admin Assistant and Project workers12. Managing budgets for Project workers13. Monitoring and evaluation of projects14. Use Social Media to promote the Partnership15. Other responsibilities which may develop by agreement

Criteria Essential Desirable
Qualifications
A good education to A level or equivalent Degree or professional qualification
Experience
Experience of working with people
Some experience in a community development role
Experience of writing funding Bids
Project management experience, evaluation and report writing
Knowledge
Knowledge of the Wayland area needs and issues.
Knowledge of regional and local strategies
Knowledge of local statistics
Skills & Abilities
Computer literate; Word, email, internet, website management; social media
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate and encourage others
Desktop publishing
