Jeffrey Swann is a recipient of The Wagner
Award presented by WSWDC to outstanding Wag-
ner scholars and performers. Dr. Swann has had a
worldwide concert career and is a featured lecturer
at the Wagner in der Wildnis retreat and at Bay-
reuth. His recent Beethoven and Chopin Cycles
received rave reviews from The New York Times.
Allan Kozinn wrote, “Mr. Swann… assembles his
programs imaginatively, often with an extra musi-
cal theme that connects seemingly disparate
works… with both obscure and commonplace information that are
clearly prepared carefully, even though they give the impression of
being off the cuff.”
Since 2007 Jeffrey Swann has been Artistic Director of the Dino Ciani
Festival & Academy in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy; since 2008 the Adel
Artist-in-Residence at Northern Arizona University; since 2010 Profes-
sor of Piano at New York University; and since 2013 Artistic Director
of the Scuola Normale Superiore Concert Series in Pisa.
