Hurricanes... Hurricanes begin as tropical storms over the warm moist waters of the Atlantic ocean of 80 degrees F or higher.
As the moisture from the ocean evaporates, it rises until enormous amounts of heated moist air are twisted high in the atmosphere,
Winds forms a spinning circular pattern around the center eye of the storm
The lower the pressure in the center of the eye the faster the winds will spin = bigger hurricane

Tornadoes... The wind coming into a storm starts to swirl and forms a funnel.
The air in the funnel spins faster and faster and creates a very low pressure area which sucks more air (and possibly objects) into it.
The severe thunderstorms which produce tornadoes form where cold dry polar air meets warm moist tropical air called Tornado Ally.
