This Vascular Seminar is designed for sonographers seeking intensive training on the essentials of vascular ultrasound. This course complements the professional’s existing skills with non-invasive vascular examination techniques. The course’s discussions include methods for optimizing the quality of diagnostic data obtained during a vascular ultrasound examination.

At the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:

• Describe the use of gray scale ultrasound, color flow imaging and spectral Doppler in the evaluation of the vascular system

• Describe the components in routine examinations of the cerebrovascular, peripheral arterial, venous and abdominal vessels

• Identify clinical ultrasound characteristics of the peripheral vascular system and Doppler flow signals

• Describe the ultrasound findings of basic pathologic conditions of the arterial-venous systems
