Why we are here
• Today we are here to inform today’s decision on two actions:
• A task order with WSDOT to advance engineering and develop a refined construction estimate for Brickyard in-line station—an element of the I-405 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project
• Budget amendment for I-405 BRT Project

• Identify an interim and long-term solution for BRT
• Meet the objectives of ST3 and the vision of the I-405 Master Plan

2019 Legislative Session Authorized Tolling and Funding for Express Toll Lanes
Legislature Authorized:
• Second I-405 express toll lane in both directions
• I-405 direct access ramps at SR 522 and SR 527
Gov. Inslee signs SB 5825 into law on May 21

Workshop Outcome and I-405 ELG Recommendation
• Move BRT stations from outside ramps to inside stations to leverage state investment and Express Toll Lanes:
• Canyon Park inside station on WSDOT direct access ramp
• SR 522 inside station on WSDOT direct access ramp*
• Brickyard in-line station
*195th in-line station remains the long-term vision when funding becomes available

• Develop the conceptual engineering, including a cost estimate for Brickyard in-line station
• Complete conceptual engineering, environmental review and cost estimating for all I-405 BRT elements
• Board decision on the project to be built in late 2020
