How to use Gint

1. Start Gint

2. Click File3. Setting the system properties:

3.1 Change the Library File:

a. Locate the library file:

C:\gint files\Libraries

Choose the following:

For borehole: libraryBHFor Trial Pit: libraryTP

3.2 Change the directory for Drawings, type…C:\gint files\Drawings

3.3 Change the directory for Project Databases, type… C:\gint files\Projects

3.4 Change the directory for Data Templates, type… C:\gint files\Data Templates

3.5 Change the directory for Temporary Files, type… C:\gint files\Temporary Files

You will find also:

Allow more than user to open a file for editing

This should put check on it always in order to allow the other to open the same file.

3.6 Click Ok

STARTING A PROJECT:

1. Clik Open Project2. Locate the file: C:\gint files\Data Templates

Proj dbase for borehole for borehole loggingProj dbase for Trial Pit for Trial Pit logging

In Gint the figure will be like this:

If not you to locate the file manually by going to the directory C:\gint files\Data Templates

Example choose Proj dbase for borehole

3. For new project click:

a. Fileb. New Projectc. Clone Project

After choosing clone project it ask for which file you want to clone…

Choose accordingly…

After choosing which project dbase to clone it will ask again for a file name, which will be the project reference.

PRINTING THE LOGS:

1. Go to Output

2. Click the Pick button, in order to choose what Borehole log to print3. Choose a template, BH_LOG-START PG.1, LOG W/O N.E.-START PG.2, etc…

4. Click preview

5. Click the File>Print or click the printer Icon.

6. Choose the option of printing

a. Choose a printer

Example:

HP5100 for the hard copy or Acrobat Distiller for PDF format or soft copy.

How to modify the log templates:

1. Go to Report

2. Double Click the text to modify

3. OK
