Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Parish Українська Католицька Церква Пресвятої Родини
CHURCH BULLETIN – Церковний Бюлетень
Glory to Jesus Christ! Слава Ісусу Христу! Glory Forever! Слава На Віки!
Today, we Ukrainian Greek Catholics are
celebrating the memory of the astonishing and holy
people which the Holy Spirit produced on the lands
of the country that, for hundreds of years, has borne
the name Ukraine. We have difficult questions to
resolve in our lives. Where do we come from? What
is the meaning of the things going on in our lives?
Where is our life heading? What is our final
destination? The Church, this community of
fighters and pioneers created and ever sustained,
inspired and guided by Jesus by means of the Holy
Spirit which He sends from the Father Almighty,
gives us clues to find the answers to these questions.
It shows us these extraordinary people - key people -
who are nonetheless ordinary people, like us. They
are extraordinary because All Saints of Rus’-
Ukraine despite all their weaknesses, their mistakes
and their sins they always kept on moving towards
the highest of callings with faith and faithfulness,
with humility and confidence. Sure, they hesitated.
They often fell down along the way. They were
sometimes full of anguish, doubt and pain. But they
always ended by getting up again and pushing on
towards the light and the truth, towards love and
goodness. In the end, they were very ordinary
people - like us. Brothers and sisters, let us not
remain in despair. Let us not permit the difficulties
we experience in life turn us away from our calling.
Let us turn our faces towards this great cloud of
witnesses who finally received the victory. Let us
fill our hearts with divine energy and continue on.
Let us become holy just as Jesus, our Friend and
Lord, is Holy!
All Saints of Rus’-Ukraine - July 6th
Pre-Authorized Giving Program
We wish to remind everyone that you may sign up for pre-authorized giving anytime of the year. Pre-Authorized Giving Program allows parishioners to make their regular Sunday offering. The Program is an option, not a requirement. It is being widely used in many other parishes and we want to make the Program available to all parishioners who would like to take advantage of it. This is a very convenient way to support your parish even in your absence. Forms are available in the narthex. They can be brought to the parish office. or mailed. Please be assured that all information is strictly confidential.
Articles that were left in the church auditorium are in
the "Lost and Found" red bucket in the narthex. Please check if any of the articles belong to you.
After 2 weeks, they will be recycled.

Thanksgiving for Volunteers
Gracious God, we give thanks for our Holy Family volunteers. Their faithfulness and dedication to our parish community is an inspiration. Their generosity and kindness of heart have been a witness of the Gospel to us all. We offer this prayer of thanksgiving for all who have generously shared their unique gifts with us. May our volunteers take pride in the unselfish work they have done on behalf of others. May they be assured that our parish has been enriched and enlivened by their contributions. Lord, may we never take them for granted and may we always remember to stop and give thanks for them. Stay near to them and bless them as they continue to do their part to build Your Kingdom here on earth. May they receive much love in return and may they be kept whole in body, mind and spirit. We ask this prayer through Christ, Our Lord, Amen God bless you all with a restful summer, but don’t forget to still come to church on Sunday’s.
- Fr Darren Kawiuk

Fifth Sunday After Pentecost - July 13
Fear Not
We all have to deal with fear. Often what we are actually afraid of is that we do not know what to expect. We always feel uncomfortable with the unexpected or the unknown. As we hear about the miracle which Christ performed in the town of Gerassa (Mt. 8:28-34), we sit in judgment of the town people and are amazed at why they begged Christ to leave.
The town people were not Jewish, they were Gentiles. They were not looking for a Savior or for a Messiah. However, they were very much aware of the two possessed men who attacked people as they passed by, and they knew that no one could control them.
Now, all of a sudden, some man, whom they have never seen before, comes along and has complete control over the demons. The Gerasenes felt uncomfortable around such power – the power of God. They did not understand Jesus, and they could not comprehend His power and authority over the demonic spirits.
Many times we also fail to understand God’s ultimate control over the universe. We feel as though everything is out of control. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Every little thing that happens is under God’s control We must be careful not to reject Christ’s power as the Gerasenes did. We reject Christ’s power when we fail to accept His forgiveness and his mercy; when we deny ourselves the opportunity to make advances in our spiritual life; when we begin to judge the things that He does and the things He lets happen. Questioning is good. How else can we learn about God and His ways? But we must remember to not let our questions turn into judgments of God. Faith means being able to accept God’s answers without even having to ask the question.

MANUFACTURER'S RECALL NOTICE: RECALL NOTICE: The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been identified as "Subsequential Internal Non-morality," more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.
Some of the symptoms include:
1. Loss of direction 2. Foul vocal emissions 3. Amnesia of origin 4. Lack of peace and joy 5. Selfish or violent behavior 6. Depression or confusion 7. Fearfulness 8. Idolatry 9. Rebellion
The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service, free of charge to correct this defect. The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required. The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.
No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
1. Love 2. Joy 3. Peace 4. Patience 5. Kindness 6. Goodness 7. Faithfulness 8. Gentleness 9. Self control
Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Best Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.
WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too
numerous to list, and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.
DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven
so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention!
- GOD
