The temperatures have started to drop which may be making some of yourplants and shrubs happier and may be making many of your annuals wantingto head off into the sunset having done their duty for the year. Whatever thecase, this is the month of change, your grass may turn brown, leaves willbegin to drop, all harbingers of the low country winter coming soon. Neverfear, now is a good time to start planning your landscape and garden for nextyear!

Now is the time to clean up yourgarden and prepare for our short, butmay be cold lowcountry winter. Youcan still plant shrubs and trees at thispoint, but select the proper ones todo so. November is probably yourlast chance to fertilize your trees andshrubs before the winter - so be sureto do so. Clean up the yard so theleaves don't harm your lawn. Mulchyour garden beds to keep shrubswarm and healthy throughout thenext few months. It is a lovely time totake a step back and see all that youhave accomplished throughout theyear!
