Your LinkedIn profile become your “online resume”

Including links to other relevant content makes you more appealing to prospective employers and clients

The more employers can learn about you before the initial contact, the better your chances

I include links to online interviews and blog posts in which I appear, but check back often to make sure your content is accessible

14 Join LinkedIn groups that pertain to your career

Join LinkedIn groups. You only get 50, so make ‘em count.

If your current groups aren’t active and engaging, move on.

Answer questions posed by your groups. This keeps your profile in the newsfeed, and keeps you on everyone’s radar.

Only answer questions you are competent to answer and don’t repeat what others have posted, unless you have something to add.

It’s perfectly ok to “like” answers someone else has posted.

Don’t oversaturate yourself in groups. Posting self-promotion in groups too often can have a negative effect.

15 Accepting connections

You might think it’s ok to add everyone who sends you a contact request but, let’s think about this.

Do you know them?

Do you have mutual connections?

Do they have recommendations?

Do they work in your field of interest?

Will it benefit you?

Is their profile in a language you can understand?

Some jobs will direct you to the

employer website, where

you may have to fill out a profile

to apply.I keep a few cover letters on file, geared toward the roles i am seeking, to copy/paste.

“Stickies” are great for that!
