Liturgy: Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Readings: 1 Kings 3:5, 7-12, Romans 8:28-30 Gospel: Matthew 13:44-52 or 13:44-46 Message: The Wise Seek God. When Solomon asked for an understanding heart to lead his people, he must have known that it was the one gift that opened the door to every other gift. For wisdom (prudence) is the virtue that guides all other virtues, and grounds judgment. The wise seek God, and those who know him seek to know him more, as Solomon, and the parables, demonstrate.

Reflection 161: The Singular Love Given to You

When pondering the love and the Mercy of God, it is tempting to see His love in a more general way, as if it were something evenly distributed to all people in the same way. But God’s love for you is something so much more than a general gift to all people. It is deeply personal and singular, being offered specifically for you, out of love for you. God does not see you as one of many, rather, He sees you as a singular focus of His love. Each and every person is loved by God in this singular and unique way. Thus, you are loved as His one precious child for whom He has offered His life. Know that God loves you as you. He knows every detail of your life and pours His grace upon you.

How aware are you of the unique and singular love God has for you? His love is personal in that you are an object of His burning Heart of Mercy. God is fully capable of loving each and every person in this way, seeing each one as His precious child and loving each person in their uniqueness and even in their sins. Let yourself, today, experience this personal and abundant love of God in your life. It will sustain you in all things and help you to always know that you are loved above all.

Lord, I love You and adore You and thank You for loving me with a perfect love. Help me receive Your unique gift of love offered to me as Your precious child. May I return this love for You by acknowledging You as my one and only Lord and God. Jesus, I trust in You.

MOVIE NIGHT AT HOME WITH FORMED.

Coming Home: John is a hardworking man that has focused more on his career than his family. A devestating event leads him back to his hometown, he will come face to face with his choices and their impact on his family. This heartfelt story demonstrates the incredible power of prayer and how God’s love can overcome all.

Growing In Your Faith

Congratulations to the newly elected and re-elected

treasurer-trustees!

Elected • SS Mary & Hyacinth Parish

o Kathy Nicholson – Re-elected • St. Wenceslaus Parish

o Ann Meyer – Newly Elected

Thank you for your willingness to serve the parish. Your reward will be great in heaven. Contact Tracey Minish Office: 715-623-5255 SS. Mary & Hyacinth Parish Center Email: ff6-12@antigoareacatholicchurches.com

For three weeks in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus has been talking about the kingdom of heaven. He talked in parables about good soil vs rocky, weedy

soil, wheat vs weeds, and good fish vs garbage. The bottom line is that at the end of the age, angels will go out among us and separate the

wicked from the righteous. We are called to stand out for righteousness, to be

good yeast, fine pearls and mustard seeds. Can the angels tell us apart from those who are chaff?

Is the light of Christ burning in us? Don’t let the evil consume you. Christians are

known by their joy, their giving and their prayer. Let the Holy Spirit show you how to be the wheat.
