Monster Mash is a safe alternative to trick-or-treating for elementary school childrenin New Brunswick Piscataway Highland Park and other nearby areas Variousstudent organizations will set up activities tables for the young visitors and rewardtheir eorts with treats For the past several years more than 100 organizations havetaken part and over 1000 children have come to the event In 2010 Monster Mashwas nationally awarded Program of the Year by the National Association of Collegeamp University Residence Halls Monster Mash is now an annual Rutgers tradition on theCookDouglass Campuses in hopes to make the event bigger by bringing the Rutgerscommunity and the New Brunswick community together on this night of Halloweencelebration
