Today I’m going to do a lesson which

helps you to improve your vocabulary

or word power. In this lesson you will

learn to refer a dictionary properly.

What

is a

Dictionary

?

A dictionary is a book

of words. When we

consider an English

dictionary, the words

are listed in the

alphabetical order of

English language.

This is how

the words in a

dictionary are

listed in the

alphabetical

order.

The words

listed in a

dictionary are

called entries.

The entries

are printed in

dark black

print.

Each entry word in the

dictionary gives you the

spelling, pronunciation,

word class (part of

speech), meaning. It also

gives examples of how

each word is used. Now

learn those parts

respectively.
