Good evening and welcome. Thank you for coming here tonight as it is an important time in your child’s education

Aims:• To ensure that all

parents/carers/pupils are fully informed about the pathway

• To ensure that all pupils study GCSE subjects and vocational courses most appropriate to their abilities and interests

• To enable all students to maximise their chances of success at KS4 and beyond

In Years 7, 8 and 9, all pupils follow a set curriculum based largely around the National Curriculum

In Years 10 and 11 pupils are able to follow a more “Personalised Curriculum”

We are committed to helping all pupils choose the most appropriate curriculum for them

Geography or History

There is a national expectation that students will study a broad range of traditional “academic subjects”. For red pathway students this is geography or history.Students may opt for German in option C to complete the Ebacc.

It is important to put down a second choice subject as:

• The curriculum for 2020-22 will be designed to meet the needs of our current Year 9 students.

• A member of the senior team will check your son/daughter is sure of their options.

• Parents will see the final student choices

• Students will not be allowed to change in September.
