• I come into the internship with a multitude of experience with human behavior, the elderly and disabled as well as the aging process

• I am looking to gain experience about policies and procedures, how these are developed and implemented and diplomacy regarding all of these matters

• Forced me to come up with solutions using only the tools that were available

• Gave me a strategic plan to help solve problems

COMMUNICATION WITH GROUPS AND COMMUNITIES

• I have experience with communicating one on one and with families, however through this internship I gained experience with groups and communities.

• Communication is so important in organizations

• I communicated through monthly newsletters and found

• Created a sense of community

• Ensured everyone received the same information

REPORTING AND CONTRACTS

• There were no specific forms or ways of reporting. All my reporting was done in ways that I created.

• I rewrote written admission contracts for Community Living Program

• Legalities

• Many different overviews/rewrites

• Importance of clear and concise language

• My true calling is working with the elderly population

• Managing my own Nursing Home or Skilled Nursing Facility

• Obtaining my Nursing Home Administrator License

• Going back to School to receive my Masters in Social Work

• Most importantly being open to what life has in store for me!
