Samuel Ganser Public Speaking Week 2Section 2 TED Talks Assignment

Heather Brookes: My

Battle to Expose Government Corruption

Sir Ken Robinson:

Why Schools Kill Creativity & Changing Education Paradigms

A tale relating to the talks topic is a great way to hook

your audience.

Heather Brooke

Maintain strong points throughout

to keep the audiences attention!

Dynamism: 3.5/5

Heather could’ve been more emotive while speaking as compared to Ken Robinson who

was very relatable and human.

What strengthened Heather’s speech?

The images behind her presentation were simple, clean,

and unobtrusive to the points she was making.

Ken Robinson was able to capture his

audiences attention with humor and observations on

previous speakers.

Good humor was kept throughout while explaining serious subjects.

Real stories from life are great aids in explaining points trying to be made.

Dynamics

Both speakers maintained good

pacing.

Both speakers remained positive even after making minor mistakes and

continued on with confidence.

What Have I Learned?

The best thing I’ve taken out of these

two exceptional speakers is to not be afraid to make

mistakes. We are all human!
