First Annual SSPH & PGTI Update on
Sunday, August 6, 20179 AM to 4:30 PMMain Auditorium5th FloorSSPHPGTI, Noida
Dear Seniors and Colleagues,
Greetings from the Department of Transfusion Medicine and the Department of Paediatric Hemato-Oncology, Super Speciality Paediatric Hospital and Post Graduate Teaching Institute (SSPH&PGTI), Noida. It gives us great pleasure to invite you to our first annual SSPH&PGTI Update on Paediatric Transfusion Medicine Practice on 6th August 2017. The theme of this year’s CME is"Introduction to Paediatric Transfusion Medicine".
Paediatric patients are not small adults. Transfusing blood components to these patients is a challenge both to transfusion medicine specialists and to paediatricians as it requires careful understanding of pediatric physiology and pathology. Regular revisions in transfusion triggers and unprecedented technological innovations in the field of transfusion medicine led us to plan this annual CME on paediatric transfusion medicine practice.
Focus of the CME will be on the most routine day-to-day issues related to paediatric transfusions and immuno-hematology along with recent advances. Faculty for the CME will discuss questions and issues that are often unanswered or not focused even during post graduate teaching. We will also highlight some of the advances in the therapeutic aspect of transfusion medicine such as therapeutic plasma exchange with recent concepts in aphere-sis and stem cell processing.
For this CME, we have brought together faculty members from across the country from most prestigious institutes. Faculties from both transfusion medicine and paediatric special-ties will aim to create a stimulating atmosphere for exchange of knowledge and to define best practices in this field. The CME will provide a platform to encourage young talent in pediatrics and pediatric specialities as well as transfusion medicine to interact with the doyens in the field. We believe the event will be of interest to practicing and in training pediatricians, transfusion medicine specialists as well as to pathologists and medical officers from blood banks.
This CME is accredited under the aegis of Indian Society of Transfusion Medicine (ISTM) and Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Noida.
CME is accredited with UP Medical Council for 4 CME hours.
We look forward to welcoming you all in August 2017 for an academic feast in the vibrant field of Paediatric Transfusion Medicine.
