Praying the Rosary with the Diocese of WestminsterFinding Jesus in the Temple: Friday 7th September

Dear brothers and sisters, contemplating the face of Christ with the heart of Mary our Mother will make us even more united as a spiritual family and will help us overcome this time of trial.

Letter of His Holiness Pope Francisto the Faithful for the Month of May 2020

We offer this decade of the Rosary for all those affected by the coronavirus and we ask the help of Our Blessed Mother, Mary, to take our prayers to her beloved son, Jesus.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on

earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our

trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil. Amen.

When Jesus is twelve years old, he goes with his parents to Jerusalem for the feast of

the Passover.

Like the Holy Family, help us to live, work and pray together as families.

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our

deathAmen.

After the feast of the Passover, Joseph and Mary unknowingly set out for Nazareth without

Jesus.

We sometimes journey without Jesus in our lives. We pray that we will stay close to

him and his example.

2

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our

deathAmen.

At the end of the first day’s journey they

discover Jesus is missing.

We pray for all those who are separated from

their loved ones.

3

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our

deathAmen.

His parents return immediately looking for him.

Like them, we pray that we will always look for Jesus to

help us as we journey through life.

This loss causes grief and anxiety beyond our

understanding to the hearts of Mary and Joseph.

We ask for comfort for all those whose suffering is caused by separation and

loss.

5

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,pray for us sinners now and

at the hour of our deathAmen.

On the third day, they find Jesus in the Temple among

the doctors who were astonished at his wisdom.

We ask that we will be astonished by Jesus’

wisdom, listen to him and let him guide our lives.

6

James Tissot

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Mary: “Son, why have You done this to us? Your father

and I have been searching for You in sorrow.

We pray that when we don’t understand God’s plan we will

continue to trust in him.

Blessed are thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God,pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our

Jesus: “Why did you search for me? Did you not know that I must be about my Father’s

business?”

May we all ask, “What is God’s plan for me?” Then,

like the child Jesus, go about our ‘Father’s business’.

Jesus goes down with them to Nazareth, and is obedient to

them.

We pray for our families. May we be like the Holy Family: loving, understanding and

obedient.

Mary keeps all these things in her heart.

Mary is the perfect example of a disciple.

May we always keep the words and actions of

Jesus in our heart.

can offer ourselves completely to the will of

God, following the example of our Lord and

Saviour, Jesus Christ.
