Overview:
This is one of the popular trekking destinations in the world,
which is surrounded by world’s highest mountain ranges. Every
year more than ten thousand people visit EBC, hence the trail is
well marked (10 feet wide and paved at some stretches) and you
would get decent food and stay throughout the trek. The Locals
(Sherpas) are very friendly and offer help and support to all
trekkers whenever needed. You can come to this destination all
around the year as people trek in all seasons; however the best
time to come to this area is between March to mid-May and between Septembers to
mid-November.
DAY WISE ITINERARY:
Typically this trek involves around 75 Km of walking and the duration is usually around 12 days.
Depending upon the weather conditions, the itinerary may be modified. You would be walking
from the altitude of 9000 feet to 17500 feet, almost daily. However, you will have a couple of
rest days during which you will allow your body to get used to the high altitude conditions. The
process is called as acclimatization. At GGIM, we mainly focus on acclimatization and during
those rest days, we conduct hikes specifically aimed at gaining higher altitudes.
Once you do the formal registration, we will share following additional details with you:
1. Guidelines and precautions for high altitude challenges
2. 2 month training module
3. Trek kit list

FAQs
1. How safe is this trek?
This is one of the safest of the high altitude treks with medical and emergency chopper lift
facility. But you should try not to be beneficiary of these facilities which surely make a hole in
your pockets. You must listen to the GGIM team’s advice. Before the trek, you should follow
a fitness training module to prepare for this trek. We will share a training module with you
once you register for the trek.
2. Give me some tips about level of fitness required
Trekkers are supposed to be in good physical conditions. You should increase the level of
intensity of training over 4-5 months period. Apart from daily fitness, you should carry 4-6 KG
load on your back during the practice treks. It will help you simulate the trekking conditions.
EBC has moderate level uphill-downhill walk and on some specific trails, you may even have
to climb little steeper. Few trails involve continuous walk of 4-6 hours. Be careful of not
stretching yourself too much!
3. Climate and min temperatures during the trek
