Federal Penalties for failure to file: The Chapter may be charged $20 per day, up to 5% of the

gross receipts for the year

The Links, Incorporation will levy a penalty –currently, $100.00

IRS Form 990

Chapters with annual gross receipts less than $50,000 or less may file form 990N (e-Postcard).

Chapters with annual gross receipts less than $200,000 may file form 990EZ

Chapters with annual gross receipts greater than $200,000 must file 990

Gross receipts are the total amount an organization received from all sources during its annual accounting period without subtracting any costs or expenses.

All Chapter Officers/Committee Chairs who handle funds are required to be named on the Bond Insurance Policy

Following Officers are required:

President, Vice President (If authorized signer on the checking account),Treasurer and financial Secretary

No less than two officers must be bonded.

Bond Insurance – Minimum is $5,000 for each position.

Bond Insurance Due to National headquarters by September 15th .

The bond insurance has been automated and all necessary forms are available on-line. Paper checks no longer accepted

Each Chapter should have a

Rituals Chair appointed with access to the necessary tools

to carry out her function.

We recommend that all chapters start the chapter year with the “Ceremony of

Friendship” and in November, use the “Founders’ Day Ceremony” in your Rituals

Manual.

TECHNOLOGY

•The Southern Area will be debuting an all new website in October. From there

chapters and members will be able to get the latest program and operations

information, find out about upcoming events and access internal Southern Area

documents.

• An effort to assist all Southern Area chapters to become technologically

compliant is being encouraged by the administration. For chapters wishing to

establish a basic site, or make a change, a rate of $500 has been negotiated for

the development of a chapter website to include a maintenance tutorial, members

only section, program and operations, photos and more. After the first year, the

rate will be $100 a year. Please email Communications@salinksinc.org for more

information.
