However, Colombia does not just boast biological talents it also devotes itself as an epicenter of cultures hosting 40 festivals and carnivals across, the whole country throughout the year. Through its unique history it has blended Spanish, Indigenous and African customs to create one of the most diverse artistic, musical, gastronomical and cultural scenes in the world.
Colombian people are warm and wholeheartedly receptive and welcoming to each other and new comers. They are extremely hardworking and amalgamated on continuing Colombia’s development and recognition.
The Spanish spoken here is widely reported to be precise and easy to understand. This has paved way for Colombia to become an ideal place to learn, develop and harness the Spanish language.
In an agreement between various governmental affiliations the campaign “Colombia Challenge Your Knowledge” was established in order to promote the quality of Colombian higher education, and disseminate research, academic and outreach programs abroad to strengthen the internationalization of universities in Colombia.
Colombia holds claim to 10% of the world’s biodiversity, as if this is not remarkable enough,
18% of Colombia’s birds, amphibians, mammals, reptiles and fish are not found
anywhere else on the planet.

Medellin is now recognized as one of the
safest cities in Colombia and Latin
America. Furthermore, Medellin won the
Urban Land Institute “Most Innovative City of 2012" award for its transportation,
cultural and social improvements and lowering
of C0 emissions.
Via a weighted regional enthusiasm on economic,
development, educational and entrepreneurial
policies, Medellin has completely refined itself
in areas of finance, services, politics, culture,
fashion, and entertainment industries. This has
not only provided opportunities for leisure and
tourism but transformed Medellin into a magnet
for international conferences and events bringing

Both EIA’s campuses are locatedin Colombia’s second largest cityand entrepreneurial capital; Medellin.

In March 2010, the Colombian Minister of Education
and the CNA (National Accreditation Board) awarded
the EIA with Institutional High Quality Accreditation.
The EIA became the 18th university in Colombia to
obtain this certification among 288 higher education
institutions in the country.
The EIA's vision is to be one of the best engineering
universities in Colombia, recognized nationally and
internationally for the quality of engineers and professionals
it produces and additionally recognized for its applied
research results and their subsequent effect and
contribution to society.
As an academic community the EIA focuses on:

Applied research and interaction towards society that will results in the technological, economic, cultural and social development of the nation.

Beginners to advanced English, BULATS, TOEFL and GMAT exam preparation courses are also available. For culture enthusiasts, art and drawing courses are also organized according to demand.
Within the EIA’s Zuñiga campus, various language and cultural courses are available.
A variety of Spanish for foreigners courses with options that
cater for all different abilities are offered. Students have the
option to participate in a cultural or research oriented immersion
in Spanish over a period of time that matches their desired
schedule. All courses are taught in accordance to the Common
European Framework. Participants will additionally be
assigned a conversation partner to practice Spanish
after class.

The EIA research projects areorganized according to
the institutional strategicfields and transversal areas:
The EIA research system has thus incorporated a system of development and technology transfer, and entrepreneurship to contribute to society’s development.
The EIA undergraduate and postgraduate programs interact directly with the differentresearch teams to generate innovation and enhance academic knowledge.
Within the EIA, research is seen as an indispensable mechanism to meet constant changes and society’s elevated demand on higher educational institutions. As such, the EIA aims to contribute towards innovation processes and increase national competitiveness.
Research
Combines the strengthening of high-impact entrepreneurial skills with projects involving the creation and development of technology based companies.
The proficient and qualified instructors, carefully selected for their
ability, experience and attitude, are dedicated to help the participating
students lead business projects in independent or large companies.
The EIA innovation department works to boost relations between research
groups, companies and other agents in science, technology and innovation
fields to bring research findings and results to the market and society. It also
fosters entrepreneurship attitude and the development of entrepreneurial
projects that aim to generate a national social and economic impact.
