ST. RICHARD PRAY FOR US
On Leaving
It has been five years plus since my first article in our bulletin. I have written on many topics, concerns and
hopes. I am thankful if you have read any or all and that at least in some small way at one time or another
they have personally spoken to you.
Leaving is never easy especially being in ministry, working side by side with an amazing staff and serving
to the best of my ability this faith-filled community of St. Richard. Know that you will be missed and that
Saint Richard will always hold a special corner of my heart. Your caring, love and support has changed me
and helped to form me into a better husband, Deacon and person. Even in times of disagreements and
misunderstandings I have grown into being a more faithful disciple of Jesus Christ.
I want to directly thank the best parish staff in the diocese. We have ministered together, supported one
another, shared meals, birthdays and laughs. I could not have succeeded as your Pastoral Leader without
this dedicated staff of co-ministers. A special thanks to Ann, Sarah and Jessica whom I worked closely with
as our parish leadership team.
Although today there may be questions and uncertainty of the future, know that Father Adam will continue
to lead St. Richard into the future with much care and compassion.
Thank you again for who you are and the difference you have made in my life. May God continue to bless
St. Richard Parish for many years to come.
With fond memories and much love, I AM…
Deacon Jerry

“For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” - ROMANS 11:29
God has a special mission in mind for each of us. He has given us –
including you - the gifts we need to accomplish that mission. We are
called to be good stewards by using those gifts to do the work that He
has planned for each of us. If we deny our gifts or fail to use them as
God calls us to use them, then some part of His work will be left
undone. It takes all of us to build the kingdom!

WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?
It is said that St. Augustine had this sentence written in large letters on the wall of his room: “HERE WE DO NOT SPEAK EVIL OF ANYONE.” Words and images that surround us can have powerful effects on us. What kinds of pictures and sayings do you keep near you—on the walls of your house, the clothes you wear? Do you allow Jesus and his love to fill your heart and in-spire you? Think about it today. Let Jesus’ love fill your soul.

PRAYER OF
ST. FRANCIS Lord, make me an
instrument of Thy peace;
Where there is hatred, let
me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is error, the truth;
Where there is doubt, the faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled, as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to
eternal life. Amen.
