DEFINITION DIGITAL LITERACYBy : Wikipedia

Digital literacy is the ability to effectively and critically navigate,

evaluate and create information using a range of digital

technology, recognising your own contribution towards

developing the knowledge base both socially and academically.

Research around digital literacy is concerned with wider

aspects associated with learning how to effectively find, use,

summarize, evaluate, create and communicate information while

using digital technologies, not just being literate at using a

computer.

life situations, in order to enable constructive social

SOCIAL ASPECTS

An article : Digital Literacy ‘urgently needed’

We urgently need to

expand our understanding of the risks we take when we

use computers.

• Not put any private information on the internet; because it can be

spread easily and be restored even after deleted.

• Computer users need to be aware that the computer can do

things most people don't know of, and so it is quite easy to get

any information from it.

• What you put on the internet is open to everyone, so you should

never put anything you don't want anyone else to see on the

internet.

• An effective way to teach people would be to give online courses

and help people become responsible digital citizens.
