PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Baliwag Water District Septage Management Program is a comprehensive wastewater water

management that caters the whole town of Baliwag, Bulacan.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVETo provide sanitation service within the service area in the form of septage management

system in the most cost effective, healthy work

environment and environmentally responsive

method.

What are the legal bases of the program?

• Water Districts are mandated to provide water and wastewater facilities in their jurisdiction

Presidential Decree No. 198

• Prohibits discharging, injecting or allowing to zip into the earth any substance that will pollute groundwater.

• Form National Sewerage and Septage Management Program

Philippine Clean Water Act (RA 9275)

• Mandating all provinces around the Manila Bay to implement programs that will clean up, rehabilitate and preserve the Manila Bay

b) Design and Build of Septage Treatment Plant (30cum/day) –

construction, supply and installation of machineries,

commissioning and process proving

c) Construction of Two-storey Office and Laboratory Building

PROJECT OPERATION

AVP

• All Barangays in the

municipality are grouped into

5 to represent 5 zones.

• Septage Collection Cycle is

every 5 years.

•Septage Collection Schedule

is based on five (5) zones

which means one (1) zone per

year.

• The sludge cake/solid is disposed as earth fill and soil enhancer.

• The effluent/liquid is used in irrigation and

re-use (i.e. cleaning, landscaping).
