Main Purpose of job: Directors have the responsibility of establishing, guiding and assessing the overall direction of Design in Mental Health Network

Main duties and responsibilities:

Directors are expected to be cognisant of the Memorandum of Association and the policy on good governance, particularly with regard to conflict of interest, when acting on behalf of the DIMHN.Directors are expected to work together to set the strategic direction of the network.A director should make a serious commitment to participate actively in Board work leading on work streams as required and reporting back in a timely manner. A director not advancing the work of the agreed workstream may be replaced.Directors should be present for the full duration of the annual conference and exhibition, usually held in May. Where possible they should also assist with manning the stand throughout the two day event.Directors are accountable to the membership for decisions made by the board.Directors should be prepared to contribute their time and expertise to the organisation. Directors should attend at least 50% of scheduled board meetings and any other important related meetings. Directors should keep abreast of all Board matters and be fully prepared for meetings, reviewing and commenting on minutes and reports.Directors should act as ambassadors for the Design in Mental Health Network and actively promote the network through whatever means available.
