In Denmark there is a big focus on education, integration and including children that are challenged in school life. The schools use 2 billion EUR out of a 6 billion EUR budget on challenged groups.

The bestWhich organisation would you like to be

as successful as?

The best

We communicate with many organisations and ask for advice. Our ambition is to be the most professional social youth organisation in Denmark.

MoneyHow do other organisations get funding? Can you do the

same?

MoneyThere is very little support for chess in Denmark but different organisations support social projects. We are a scholastic organisation with a clear social profile.

Strategy

What is your plan? Do you need to rethink?

Strategy

We try to run DSCF as a professional organisation.Despite being a small organisation our ambition is to be a serious partner for the Ministry of Education. We brand “Skoleskak” as a method that helps children perform better in school.

FriendsWho support your

agenda?

FriendsSchools, parents, and society have major concerns related to children performing bad in school – particularly boys – due to lack of concentration. We try to help solving this problem, and we get goodwill, media attention and more friends.

Step-by-step

Network and knowledge from other organisations are

valuable.

Step-by-Step

In 2009 we got our first large-scale project with a social/integration framework. Yet, we still need to fundraise 90% of our budget every year. However, things are getting better year by year.
