MADS is working in collaboration with the second year dental students for an anti-tobacco campaign called "Smoke Free Smile". Last month’s event was quite a hit and many university students stopped by our stand and joined in our activities. We had organised games and activities to educate the students, highlighting the harmful effects of smoking on teeth and the whole body. We had our main sponsor, V.J. Salomone who provided us with the Instegram banner for the competition, giving a chance for a student to win an electrical toothbrush. We were providing free samples from Prohealth & Kin products, such as

whitening toothpastes and mouth washes. The stand had several informative leaflets and charts, along with several other freebies including stress balls, car air fresheners.

JOIN US The upcoming event is also part of this campaign will be in Valletta on the 12th of December.

Public Health Activities

The Mobile Dental Unit is visiting various localities in Malta (Paola, Valletta, Qormi, Mosta, Birżebbuġa etc.) & Gozo in order to promote oral health amongst the population

Such outreaches are organized by the Dental Public Health Unit & the Faculty of Dental Surgery, University of Malta where Individuals are screened & provided with dental advice as well as referral appointments given if required. Alongside with the free dental screenings, usually a stand is set nearby as to motivate people to aim for & maintain reasonable standards of oral hygiene that will solve most of the chronic, yet preventable, oral diseases & distributing samples of tooth-pastes (children & adults) & mouth washes with instructions of their usage & the purpose they serve. It’s time to celebrate the end of

another busy scholastic term with

donated to child oncology

patients at Mater Dei Hospital.
