Junto a “rebeliones y desórdenes” globales
fe”!
• La respuesta de Jesús podría parafrasearse:
“Calidad y no cantidad”.

Join the Corpus Christi Youth Group on
October 19th to help repair a home in the
Midlands Area
Home Works site leader for Corpus Christi
“We will work with each other, we will work side
by side, and they’ll know we are Christians by our
Love.” These are words from a “folk style” hymn
from the 60’s. In April of this year, the Corpus
Christi Youth Group worked side by side with Home
Works of Columbia. We were able to bring Faith,
Hope, and Love to a disabled woman by repairing
windows, cleaning floors, painting, cleaning the
kitchen and doing yard maintenance. It was a long
day, but it was full of Love. Working side by side
with us were friends from other churches. Some were
from Gilbert United Methodist. Like the members of
our group, they too were so moved by the experience
serving our brothers and sisters in need that they will
join us again this October. They will also bring along
their own youth group.
As the site leader for this team, I am overjoyed to
have our fellow Christians join us to spread God’s
love through this wonderful ministry and
organization. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells
us, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and
all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious
throne, and all the nations will be assembled before
him. And he will separate them one from another, as
a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He
will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his
left. Then the king will say to those on his right,
‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit
the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of
the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I
was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and
you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and
you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.’
Then the righteous will answer him and say, ‘Lord,
when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty
and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger
and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When
did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And
the king will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to
you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers
of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:31-40).
On Saturday October 19th 2013, the Corpus Christi
Youth Group will be repairing another home here in
the Midlands area. Regardless of your skill level, you
are invited to join us. If you are unable join us to
work, we ask for your prayers. Home Works is a
nonprofit organization committed to showing God's
love by repairing the homes of homeowners in need.
For more information on Home Works, you may
visit their web site at www.homeworksofamerica.org

our youth and their families on October 19th or

Christi Youth Coordinator Brigette Hemming at 318-

THE CHILDREN’S CORNER Hello Children, I want to continue our discussion on the
importance of prayer. Last week we learned about the
prayer of thanksgiving. Do you know of any other type of
prayer? If you don't know any other prayer by name, then
I will gladly introduce you to another one.
This prayer has to do with saying we are sorry. We know
when to say sorry, don't we? We say sorry when we do
something wrong or when we are not as nice as we should
be to another person. Some people don't know how to say
sorry when they are wrong. When we do something wrong
or bad, the person we have offended feels bad. The way
we can stop that person from feeling bad is to say that we
are sorry. Saying sorry is a very good thing to do to our
friends, our parents, our teachers or any person we hurt by
our bad action. We should say sorry to God also when we
do not do what he expects us to do. So the name for the
prayer when we want to say sorry to God is the PRAYER
OF SORROW. I give you an example of this prayer. At
the beginning of every Mass we say we are sorry to God.
But we say sorry not only to God but to everyone in the
Church and even those who are not there that we had
offended. We say sorry for thinking bad things, for saying
bad things and for doing bad things and ask God for
forgiveness and we ask everyone to pray to God on our
behalf as well. So at Mass we say sorry to God not just by
our self alone but with everyone there.
This is the prayer we say. I confess to almighty God and
to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and
in what I have failed to do, -all strike their breast–
through my fault, through my fault, through my most
grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and
sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Priest: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us
our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
