Our History

Following the atrocities of the French Revolution, St Claudine Thevenet founded the Religious of Jesus and Mary on

6th October 1818.

St Claudine set out to look after, nurture and care for the many children orphaned

by war. Like the staff at CJM today, her aim was to encourage the children in her

care to f lourish and blossom academically, spiritually and morally.

St Claudine is our patron and it is her values that we strive to emanate in our daily work: Love of Jesus, Love of Mary, Forgiveness, Education,

Simplicity, Family Spirit and Service.
