Introduction
To configure Outlook to access your University student email account
Procedure
1. In Outlook go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings and then select “New…”
2. Select “Manually configure server settings or additional server
types”, then click Next
3. Select Internet E-mail, then click Next
4. Enter the following details:
Your name: Your name
Email address: a1234567@student.adelaide.edu.au
Account Type: IMAP
Incoming mail server: imap.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.adelaide.edu.au
User Name: a1234567@student.adelaide.edu.au
Password: your password
Tick Remember password
5. Select More Settings

6. Select the Advanced tab, type the following details:
Incoming server (IMAP): 993
Under “Use the following type of encrypted connection”, select SSL
Outgoing Server (SMTP): 587
Under “Use the following type of encrypted connection”, select TLS
7. Select the Outgoing Server tab and tick “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.
8. Click OK
9. Click Next, then Finish
