The XXVII Annual Conference of the

ASSOCIATION KANGOUROU

SANS FRONTIÈRES

Welcome! Bienvenu! Привет!

Welcome to Chicago, one of the most thrilling and recognizable cities in

the world!

At the XXVII Meeting of Association Kangourou sans Frontières we are pleased to host 176

mathematicians from 76 countries. We hope you find the place welcoming and a great

environment for selecting the best questions for Math Kangaroo 2020.

Math Kangaroo started in the USA twenty-one years ago in Chicago. Since then our

participation grows each year and the competition has spread to 44 US states. Our

organization is driven by volunteer effort of teachers, parents and other enthusiasts at schools,

universities, libraries, churches and more. More and more public monetary support each year

enables awarding waivers and discounts on participation fee for those who need help. You are

welcome to visit our web page: www.mathkangaroo.org for more information.

Although work is the priority, we hope you are going to experience the magic of Chicago during

your short stay here.

With almost 3 million inhabitants, the city is an international hub for finance, culture, commerce,

industry, technology, telecommunications, and transportation. It is the site of the Chicago

Board of Trade, which today is the largest and most diverse products market globally.

In 2018, 58 million domestic and international visitors came to Chicago to enjoy its famous

landmarks that include Millennium Park, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute of

Chicago, the Willis (Sears) Tower, Grant Park Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry,

and Lincoln Park Zoo.

Its famous colleges and universities, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, and

the University of Illinois at Chicago, are classified as "highest research" doctoral universities.

The O'Hare International Airport, your entry point to the USA, is one of the busiest airports in

the world.

As your host we do our best to create the warm environment for selecting excellent Math

Kangaroo questions. Let Math Kangaroo 2020 be another amazing year with questions both

inspiring and challenging for all students around the world!

We wish you a nice stay!
