The Yadkin River is a fairly large river in western North Carolina. This is not very far away from the flooding that occurred near Hickory and Taylorsville.

Ellendale is just west of Taylorsville, in Alexander County, NC. This river rose 12 feet in about 3 hours prior to 6 AM THU.

Widespread 3-8 inches fell in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina as Eta pumped moisture into the area ahead of and advancing cold front.

My wife sent me this picture of the flooding in western North Carolina. I believe this is Millersville Road outside of Taylorsville, NC.

A chunk of the asphalt in the center left part of the picture shows the white line that once formed the left edge of the road.

It will be some time before this road can be repaired and reopened.
