Document Upload

What is document upload?

Document upload gives providers the ability to upload

supporting documentation to CareConnection®,

reducing or eliminating the need to fax.

Do I still need to enter information?

Absolutely!

Document upload does not replace the requirement to

enter clinical data in CareConnection.

Not all services will require you to upload documents.

Incomplete reviews may be administratively closed.

Document Upload Page

A new page will be added to the CareConnection web

portal titled Document Upload.

Security Function

For security reasons - Providers must complete the

Administrative page prior to uploading documents.

Document Type

On the Document Upload page,1. Providers will select the type of document that is being uploaded,

2. Click on browse to search for the document to be uploaded,

3. Click attach (you must follow the correct file specifications listed in red)

Attaching a Document

On the file upload screen,1. Find the appropriate document

2. Click the document

3. Click open (to attach) or double click the document

Attaching a Document

Once attached, the document will be displayed at the

bottom of the page with the time the document was

uploaded.

Deleting a Document

You can delete a document by selecting the checkbox

to the left of the document and clicking the Delete

button. A confirmation will be displayed prior to

deleting.

Submitting Documents

Once your documents have been uploaded. You may

proceed to the Submit To KEPROpage.

Please note: you will not be able to upload additional

documents once a case has been submitted to APS.

Incomplete cases will be administratively closed with a

note in the download notifications.

Reviewing Documents

Once the case has been submitted to APS, you may

review the documents by opening the case and clicking

View Services History.

In the View Services History you will see any attached

documents to the far right.

Click to open the documents.

KEPROUploaded Documents

KEPROinternal users will have the

ability to upload additional

documents for you to view such as

Decision Letters and Appeal

Documents.

Document Upload - Rollout Phase

• Beginning 6/6/16, Section 17 providers can utilize the Document Upload feature by uploading clinical letters to their Prior Authorizations and Continued Stay Reviews for members who require additional documentation. School Based Services may also begin utilizing the enhancement as of this date to attach IEPs and or ITPs to their submissions.

• Beginning 7/1/16, Section 17 Services and Services requiring referral applications will have the option to use the Document Upload feature.

1. Do the documents carry forward when clicking the EXT or

COPY function?

Answer: No. Previously submitted documents can be found by

clicking the View Services History tab within a case.

2. How do I rotate my PDF document?

Answer: In Adobe Reader > Click View on the menu > Rotate

3. Why could my timestamp be different than the actual

time?

Answer: Time is based on where your agency server is located.

4. Why won’t my document upload?

Answer: This could be caused by one of the following reasons:

• The file size is larger than the 4MB maximum.

Tip: Maximum file is 4,096KB.

• You’ve selected the wrong file type. The file must be

one of the following: .doc, .docx, .txt, .pdf, .wps.

• The filename has already been attached.

Tip: A filename is not the same as the document type

5. What if I submitted the wrong document?

Answer: Once the document has been submitted to APS, you

would need to contact us to remove the document.
