Trial propagation in cultivating heritage trees from the four remaining First World War memorial trees in the Township

Recent and anticipated publications on the life and letters of Captain Hector Jackson

Close proximity to the original Jackson farm on 24th Avenue near 256th Street in Aldergrove

Safety Considerations

Compliance with the site line requirements for road safety

Provision for Parking Opportunity to park

temporarily to view the memorial

Environmental Considerations

Compatibility with the existing creek adjacent to the road which is not rated environmentally sensitive

This tree was planted in 2009 to replace one placed on this road in 1923 in memory of Captain Hector John

Roderick Jackson, M.C.Many commemorative trees, most now lost, were planted

throughout the community in honour of soldiers from Langley who died during or shortly after the First

World War.
