Girls Soccer
Mrs Osarek and her team of 14 girls travelled to Wollongong
to play in the semi-finals of the PSSA knock-out competition.
After discovering our shirts and
colours were EXACTLY the
same, the Lindsay Park Public
School girls donned some red
bibs and the game got
underway.
The girls went straight into a high
energy game and a mistake
from their keeper gave us a
direct penalty kick. Bella put it
away to give us a 1- 0 lead.
The game flowed back and
forth with Ella, Bridie and Freya
using the ball well in the middle
of the park. A scramble in front
of goal put the score at 1-1 at half time.
A brief pep talk and the girls were attacking the ball again. Elise, Kara and Hunter were
tremendous in repelling the many attacks by their apposition, supported by Indi, Bailey,
Maddie and Peyton. A great pass by Jess saw Bella run forward and score, 2 - 1.
The Lindsay Park girls capitalised on their forward kicks to score from a corner, 2 - 2.
The game went into extra time with Addison making many heroic diving saves to keep
the scores level.
We did not progress to the next round due to the ‘corners rule’.
Well done to the girls who all played with grit, determination and superb teamwork.
This result is equal to the most successful girls soccer team at BPS ever!
