Bungendore Fine Art (17) has “art from the artists” This accessible gallery exhibits over 150 paintings by a group of artists and visiting artists. An artist is on hand, usually painting, in the gallery.
Bloomfield Galleries/Odana Editions (12) specialises in original works by Norman Lindsay and Frank and Margel Hinder. Odana Editions publish limited editions of Norman Lindsay artworks, books, posters, greeting cards and sculpture. Open by appointment Monday to Friday – two days notice required please.
A quintessential art and craft shop, Bungendore Art Connection (19) is run by resident artists, Tania and Vivien Laycock, always happy to chat about painting, kilnwork, spinning, knitting and woodcraft. Bungendore souvenirs available and for the art enthusiast, an excellent Papua New Guinea art collection is on permanent display.
X Gallery (25) situated in a beautifully restored barber’s shop, has an emphasis on high quality art and objects
by regional artists. Featuring contemporary jewellery by resident artist Xanthe Gay and glass, ceramics and fine art as well as world-renowned products by Fink & Co Design and Bison Homewares.
Frances Clarice Gallery (18) enjoys the ambience of the historic Bungendore Fire Shed, showcasing local artisans: Rick Bevis – potter; Sue Stickney of Stickney Clothes – designer and maker of unique women’s clothing; and Vanessa Welham – maker of inspirational lamps and jewellery, sharing an appreciation of Japanese design influenced superior finished work.

This award winning GreenGold Nursery is a leading retailer of the rare and ancient Wollemi Pine, the healthiest plants and a huge range of pots and mixes. Gallery includes Fowler Vacola preserving kits, candles, books and gifts for everyone. Closed Tuesdays.
The historical Bungendore Railway Station is home to the Station Shops (13) with neat rooms filled with home wares, furniture, gifts, jewellery and much more, with a little French influence, all to delight the discerning shopper.
FINE FOODThere are abundant choices for good eating. Walk around the village and follow your intuition or ask a local for the place to best suit your needs. The award winning Carrington Inn Restaurant (7) is nothing like your ordinary hotel restaurant. Offering a romantic, sophisticated and traditional ambience and has fast become one of the Canberra Region’s most exciting dining experiences.
There’s a big welcome at Cafe Wood Works (6), and generous cuisine, with coffee and cakes to come back for. A fine art gallery ambience, air-conditioned summer comfort, warm in winter, covered deck, alfresco dining – it all makes for a most stylish dining experience. Thymes Thirty Three (18), Bungendore’s newest café in a secluded location has all day breakfasts and a modern seasonal menu featuring home cooked meals and ever-changing specials including gluten free dishes. Or just enjoy a home-made dessert or cake with barista made coffee inside or out. Takeaway also available.
Call in for a treat and a cuppa at the local family-run Gunna-doo Bakery (24) for yummy cakes and pies and traditional country bread, baked fresh every day.
Logan’s Cafe (23) is a vibrant and friendly café with a focus on tasty home-style food at a reasonable price. There’s gluten free and vegetarian options and wonderful wood-fired pizzas from 5pm. Only closed on Mondays
Bungendore Food Lovers Market (1) are suppliers of farm direct produce, gluten and preservative free smallgoods, local chutneys, olives and much more. Daily light meals and espresso coffee – you can taste the difference.
The Scented Rose Garden and Teahouse (27) at 1725 Bungendore Road, Bywong, 17km west of the village, offers a wonderful open garden with many rose varieties and seasonal flowers located in a rural setting. Bungendore Fine Art (17) has “art from the artists” This accessible gallery exhibits over 150 paintings by a group of artists and visiting artists. An artist is on hand, usually painting, in the gallery.
Bloomfield Galleries/Odana Editions (12) specialises in original works by Norman Lindsay and Frank and Margel Hinder. Odana Editions publish limited editions of Norman Lindsay artworks, books, posters, greeting cards and sculpture. Open by appointment Monday to Friday – two days notice required please.
A quintessential art and craft shop, Bungendore Art Connection (19) is run by resident artists, Tania and Vivien Laycock, always happy to chat about painting, kilnwork, spinning, knitting and woodcraft. Bungendore souvenirs available and for the art enthusiast, an excellent Papua New Guinea art collection is on permanent display.
X Gallery (25) situated in a beautifully restored barber’s shop, has an emphasis on high quality art and objects
by regional artists. Featuring contemporary jewellery by resident artist Xanthe Gay and glass, ceramics and fine art as well as world-renowned products by Fink & Co Design and Bison Homewares.
Frances Clarice Gallery (18) enjoys the ambience of the historic Bungendore Fire Shed, showcasing local artisans: Rick Bevis – potter; Sue Stickney of Stickney Clothes – designer and maker of unique women’s clothing; and Vanessa Welham – maker of inspirational lamps and jewellery, sharing an appreciation of Japanese design influenced superior finished work.

This award winning GreenGold Nursery is a leading retailer of the rare and ancient Wollemi Pine, the healthiest plants and a huge range of pots and mixes. Gallery includes Fowler Vacola preserving kits, candles, books and gifts for everyone. Closed Tuesdays.

Thymes Thirty Three (18), Bungendore’s newest café in a secluded location has all day breakfasts and a modern seasonal menu featuring home cooked meals and ever-changing specials including gluten free dishes. The Scented Rose Garden and Teahouse (27) at 1725 Bungendore Road, Bywong, 17km west of the village, offers a wonderful open garden with many rose varieties and seasonal flowers located in a rural setting.
