Brief Industrial Profile of YADGIR District
1. General Characteristics of the District: It is the youngest and only the second smallest district of the state. It was drawn out from the Southern part of the East while Gulbarga District.
1.1 Location & Geographical Area. The district is located on the Deccan Plateau at 693 meters above Mean Sea Level bounded by Gulbarga, Bijapur & Raichur of Karnataka State in the North, West & South and Mahaboobnagar district of Andhra Pradesh in the East. 1.2 Topography There are 2 Rivers flowing through the District to the advantage of the district making irrigation possible for parts of the district. 1.3 Availability of Minerals.

1.4 FOREST:
The meager dry and Semi arid forest does not produce any
Major resource. A little amount of Gum, Honey, Beedi leaves and
Custard Apple are worth mentonening.
1.5 Administrative set up:- The district is drawn out of the
existing district of Gulbarga with Talukas Yadgir, Shahapur &
Shorapur.

3.4 Large Scale Industries / Public Sector undertakings
Core Green Sugar & Fuels Private Limited has commissioned an Integrated Sugar Complex with 5000 TCD sugar plant, 24 M W Co-Generation Power plant and 50 KLPD Distillery. This Greenfield project worth Rs.300 Crore is located in Tumkur (v) in Yadgir Dist, Karnataka.
