DViN-1 - Detectors of Explosives & Drugs
In the present day high security environment , there is a need to strengthen protection against terroristthreats that include explosive, chemical, radiological and nuclear attacks. The most effective preventionagainst such attacks is detection and identication of the threat before it activates.
The DViN-1 proprietary next-generation Neutron detection technology makes our systems amongthe most advanced detection tools available today. Our systems are the only true chemical-specic,automated technology available in the marketplace which can not only detect the presence of, but also
identify by elemental composition a wide range of materials, whether shielded or masked including, explosives, special nuclear materials, chemical agents and drugs.

DViN-1 Portable Detector
Our DViN-1 is a man-portable detector designed primarily for the remote detection and identicationof Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). The system uniquely addresses the signicant problemsposed by unattended or suspicious packages or bags as well as a wide range of other threat scenariosincluding the remote interrogation of targeted suspect areas of vehicles, cargo or luggage.
The DViN-1 was developed as a result of marketplace demands for a more exible and automateddetection system with improved functionality. Due to its small footprint and vertical stacked design, it canbe transported through narrow pathways and doorways, and navigate the tight spaces of passengerand baggage areas in multiple environments (planes, trains, buses, stadium and other venues).
This makes it particularly attractive to transit operators which have to contend with unattended baggageleft in overhead areas and do not wish to move or manipulate a suspect package or bag. DViN-1
detects the presence of threat materials including explosives, radionuclide, certain chemicals and otherillicit substances, with a probability of detection of about 95% and false positive and false negativerates of about 2%, in as little as 60 seconds.
The DViN-1 is ideally suited for:
Private & Public transportation Airports and customs Bomb squads Military applications Private event security (sports venues, concerts)

DViN-1 Cargo Detector
Our DViN-1 detector is designed to increase the security at seaports by non-intrusive detection of
explosives or narcotics within shipping containers. Shipping is a key international industry, 95% ofthe world cargo is moved by ship corresponding to over 200 million containers per year exchangedbetween major seaports.
Today, inspections of containers are largely based on X-or Gamma Ray systems but they provide limitedinformation about container objects such as shape and density. With the DViN-1 detector controllersare able to detect the chemical composition of suspect items in order to detect illicit materials such asexplosives and drugs.

DViN-1 Car Bomb Detector
The DViN-1 Car Bomb Detector was developed in response to the critical need for improved protectionfrom car bombs.
The DViN-1 Car Bomb Detector offers a mobile solution that can be deployed to interrogate vehiclesthat have been agged for inspection. The DviN-1 is congured to detect VBIEDs, where explosivesor car bombs are concealed in the closed trunk, undercarriage, or other compartment of a static or
parked vehicle, as well as IEDs such as roadside bombs. The systems sensors are deployed from thevehicle at the end of a mechanical arm and placed in close proximity to the targeted area.
The DViN-1 Car Bomb Detector is capable of remote operation either from a console in the commandand control van or wirelessly from a distance. It is designed for mobile deployment at vehicle checkpointsas well as road-side screening of suspicious vehicles.
of about 2%, in as little as 60 seconds.
The DViN-1 is ideally suited for:

Radiation Safety FAQs
MAY THE PEOPLE GET EXPOSED TO RADIATION?
No, fast neutron radiation can be hazardous for humans.
To avoid harmful effects, a detector operator must remainoutside of the hazardous area. Hazardous area dimensionsdepend on neutron producer intensity. At peak intensity
I = 5107 c-1, the hazardous area radius R = 7.8 m, whileat I = 1107 c-1, the hazardous area radius R = 3.5 m.
HOW HIGH IS THE RADIATION EXPOSURE DOSEOUTSIDE OF THE HAZARDOUS AREA?
If this person gets in such situation (walking outside
of the hazardous area during scanning in progress) notmore than 25 times a year (2 times a month), annual doseshall not exceed 10 Sv a year* which corresponds
to small radiation hazard and can be disregarded *General population annual radiation exposure dose
limit is 1000 Sv. - An excerpt from the Sanitary-Epidemiological Conclusion of
Radiation Hygiene Institute Named after Professor P.V. Ramzaev
After fast neutron irradiation by complex DVIN-1 fora standard composition of examination object, comprised
of foodstuff, domestic chemical products, radio electronicdevices, tools and household articles, the ambient
equivalent dose rate of photon radiation on the surfacedoes not exceed background values.
During operation of the portable complex DVIN-1 basedon tracer neutrons technology for detection of explosive
materials applied in accordance with Operation Manual, induced activity in examination objects does not pose
any radiological hazard.
- Measurements of ambient equivalent dose rate of photon radiationon the surfaces of examination objects following the use of portablecomplex DVIN-1.
DOES RADIACTIVITY GET INDUCED IN SCREENEDOBJECTS, ENVIRONMENT, SCANNER ITSELF?
There is no activation of object under control andenvironmental objects. Activation radiation dose rate
from complex neutron generator structure immediatelyafter its switching off (operation tune 10 minutes) doesnot exceed 0.4 Sv/h, and in 10 minutes after switching
off does not exceed background values. - An excerpt from the Sanitary-Epidemiological Conclusion of
Radiation Hygiene Institute Named after Professor P.V. Ramzaev
