Don’t Want to Compete?
That’s okay – just come as a participant and be amazed. We will offer up to twelve different presentations on all subjects related to training and development – in three hours!
of the Game – 1
Topics must be related to training and speaking. Presenter can tell a story, provide instruction, or share experiences – anything goes, as long as the subject matter is related to training or speaking. We are looking for everything from designing training to delivering keynotes!
Rules of the Game – 2
Your verbal presentation must be accompanied by PowerPoint – the number of slides must equal twenty. Each slide should feature one image or phrase – stay away from bullet points.
Rules of the Game – 3
Slides must auto-advance every 20 seconds! (You can do this using the “Transitions Tab” in PowerPoint.)
Rules of the Game – 4
Total time cannot exceed six minutes, forty seconds.
We encourage . . .
Handouts – they are optional – and appreciated (to be supplied by presenter). Shared Content – if possible we ask presenters to make PowerPoint slide show available to participants after the session via internet.
You Should Know . . .
There will be a question /answer period after each presentation that is not to exceed three minutes. No questions are to be answered during your 6 minute, 40 seconds presentation period.
When Considering Proposals . . .
Everyone is eligible to submit presentation proposals – in the event of a large number of proposals, members will be given selection priority when possible.
The Competition
Each presentation will be scored by the audience immediately following the presentation. First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded based on audience feedback.
Proposal Submission
You may submit your proposal in whatever format you feel best
represents your content.

How We Will Choose . . .
ASTD SWFL Board members will choose presentations based on impact, relevance, and content. Decisions will consider the desire to include a wide variety of subjects that are of interest to training and development professionals.
