World Science Day
The World Science Day for peace and
development (WSDPD) is annually held
on 10th November to raise awareness of
the benefits of Science worldwide. The
WSDPD is also known as World Science
Day.
Year 3 Students Actively participated
in the poster making and presentations
about everyday uses of Science.
Students researched on how science
and technology helps in development
and making peace.
Active Classroom Learning Literacy: - We learnt how to write a short story
from –Something happened in my street. We also
learned about describing through adjectives.
Numeracy: - We learnt about 2D shapes, length –to
measure different lengths and to convert length. We
are able to add and subtract two and three digit
numbers bridging with multiple of 10, and now we
know to multiply 3, 4 6 and 8 times table. Learning
times table through songs were unbelievable.
Geography: - We enjoyed learning about, changing
weather conditions. We can see the change in
weather currently as autumn got over and winter is
on its way.
Science: - We learnt about helping plants grow. We
learnt about the functions of parts the plant, different
types of roots, how water is transported through
stem and why do leaves matter.Now are learning
about how do animals and feed in with different
ways.

Contribution for National Day stall.
National Day Celebration! ‘Today was an amazing day! I enjoyed every bit of
celebration from decorating the class to walk to
take a look of projects done by our mates on the
theme past and present UAE houses’’. Says Ahmad. “I loved the henna designing and the dance” Says
Amal.
Year level wise various sectors were planned
focusing UAE time line from 1971-2015-2021. Topic
selected by each level was housing, clothing, food,
sports & recreation, education, trade, transport,
UAE achievement, tourism, rulers and culture
where various tents were set up for showcasing the
progress of the UAE based on the theme of ‘Global
Village’. Year 3 projected past and present houses.
Mufti Day, also known as Uniform-free
day, is a day where students go to school in
casual clothing instead of school uniform. We
celebrated our MUFTI DAY on 15th Nov,
2015.
Charity is defined as love directed first
towards God but also toward oneself and
one's neighbours as objects of God's love. On
this day, students were encouraged to
contribute for charity. They were motivated
to cultivate the moral values like generosity,
helping and caring for the poor and the needy
etc… Students presented themselves in blue
dress to show their compassion towards other
humans. It was a sweet and memorable day
filled with joy and happiness.
KHDA Sports Day was celebrated in the school
premises on 25th November 2015.
Everyone can gain the health benefits of physical
activity - age, ethnicity, shape or size do not
matter.
The students of Year 3 had an aerobic session in
the class during the Core value period.
After school activities were specially organized
for parents, staff and students. Parents, students
and teachers participated enthusiastically.
Different matches like soccer was arranged for
the men while throw ball was arranged for the
women. There were also various fun games like
bombing the health issues, Lemon and spoon
race, foo –ball etc.
The support given by the parents towards this
event is commendable.
Educational Field Trip.
Students of Year 3 went on an Educational
Field Trip to Mushrif Park on 8th December
2015.We reached there at 9.15 am. Students
went to see the international village,
comprising of 13 models of Arabic and foreign
houses. The architecture of the houses
represented different countries. The
information was beneficial for the students.
The weather being pleasant we took the
students for a walk and most f they were
jotting down some interesting facts.
United Nations Assembly-UN
Students showcased their theme based
learning on United Nations through an
assembly on 16th December. They showed a
variety of learning. Pakistani cultural dance,
hunger, women’s right, chines multiplication
method, learning multiplication through
nursery rhymes, fashion show, and school
news was few of the examples.
Hour of Code
The theme for the week was “Hour Of
Code”, a tutorial was shown to the children
to make them understand what is Hour Of
Code. The Hour of Code is a one-hour
introduction to computer science, designed
to demystify code and show that anybody
can learn the basics. TWS host the whole
week as an Hour OF Code to make it possible
that every student should have the
opportunity to learn computer science. It
helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic
and creativity. Being tech savvy children
they all were excited to use their BYOD’S
to play and explore coding methods.
Children enjoyed it a lot and they won
the certificates too for completing the
mine craft and other games.
