President’s Report
The past twelve months have been both
exciting and challenging for our Organisation,
with a constant need to be proactive in
responding both to the needs of our clients and
the demands placed on our Organisation by the
various Government authorities from whom we
receive our core funding.
In dealing with the challenges the Organisation
has been very busy and is continuously
endeavouring to improve and enhance our
overall efficiency which could not have been
achieved without the involvement of the
members of our Management Committee;
namely, Maureen Olson , Maxwell Kingston, Ian
Dear, Olive Wills and Raja Jata whom I all
acknowledge for their continued, dedicated and
tireless commitment. However, it is with great
regret that we bid farewell to Maureen Olson
who is retiring from the Management
Committee at this Annual General Meeting.
Maureen has served our Organisation for the
past 22 years in many capacities namely,
Service Administrator (8 years), Acting Manager
(6 months), Committee Member (13 years) and
has always given her fullest support and
commitment. We wish her all the best in the
future knowing very well that she will not be
able to stay away and will always be available
to assist, if required.
Of course, another very important member of
our Committee this past year has been Kathy
Mangan who is the Consumer Representative
and keeps the Management Committee fully
abreast of passengers‘ ongoing needs and
satisfaction of our services.
From the beginning of the year the
Management Committee worked very closely
with Virginia Coy in her role as Acting Manager
and very quickly realised how capable Virginia is
in both her handling of all of the operational
responsibilities and dealing with the entire
administrative staff in the office, both paid and
volunteers, upon whom we rely on heavily to
implement and achieve our objectives. In
recognition of Virginia‘s dedication, commitment
and success the Management Committee
appointed her to the position of Manager
effective 21st April 2015.
We again acknowledge the ongoing support
from both the City of Ryde, Hunters Hill Council
and local businesses. In particular, Ryde
Toyota, Brad Garlick Ford, Amtek (vehicle
modifications), Tiger Automotive and North
Ryde RSL Club.
Again this year we held another successful
Planning Meeting to ensure we were on track
with our Goals and Objectives, placing greater
emphasis on what is the future for Community
Transport organisations and specific to our
situation collaborating with our surrounding
Community Transport organisations to research
a new model referred to as ―Northern Sydney
Region Community Transport‖. To this end I
would like to acknowledge the wonderful efforts
of both Ian Dear and Maureen Olson who
represent us on the Steering Committee.
We acknowledge the support of The Huntley‘s
Cove Estate Executive for making their facilities
available for our bi-monthly Board meetings.
Our client survey undertaken this year was also
very successful and encouraging with some very
positive feedback received as well as
suggestions to improve our service to our
clients. This resulted in the formation of a new
Marketing Committee which is being Chaired by
Paul Kelly to work towards increasing the public
and community profile of our Organisation.
We also acknowledge the ongoing financial
commitment by both State and Federal
Governments, through Transport for New South
Wales to ensure we continue our vision of
―Enriching Lives and Enabling Access‖ for our
clients in the Ryde and Hunters Hill areas .
Finally in closing I must identify the need we
have for volunteers and please ask you to
consider the giving of your time, no matter how
little, to assist us in our ever demanding
responsibilities to serve our Community .

Annual Report 2015 6
Manager’s Report This past year has seen Ryde Hunters Hill
Community Transport continue in its
endeavours to provide a safe, reliable and
caring service to our clients.
After serving as Acting Manager for a period of
time, I accepted the permanent position of
Manager in April, 2015. I thank the
Management Committee for my appointment to
this role and for their support throughout the
year. I would also like to thank my wonderful
staff and team of volunteer workers for their
dedication to their roles within the organisation.
Together we have strived to provide excellent
customer service to our clients.
During the year the organisation‘s policies and
procedures have been updated, including our
Work Health and Safety procedures. We were
assessed against the criteria set out by the NSW
Disability Service Standards and I am pleased to
announce that we were successful in passing
the third party verification, ensuring that we
comply with the standards pertaining to the
assistance of people with disabilities. We also
remain compliant with the Home Care
Standards.
In response to the requirements of our
verification we now hold Client Focus Groups
twice a year. These are invitation-only events,
as we seek to have a broad range of clients
attending to ensure that we are meeting the
needs of the whole community. Should you be
interested in joining one of our Focus Groups
please notify the office.
This year the organisation has prepared for the
industry changes that took place at the end of
June, namely, the move from the Home and
Community Care Programme to the
Commonwealth Home Support Programme.
With this change came the introduction of ‗My
Aged Care‘, a new centralised, national,
government referral centre for all home care
services, including transport. I would like to
reassure our clients that we will still be
providing you with the same services as
previously, and hope to have even more to offer
in the future. You may already have noticed
that we have
increased our
social outings
programme. We
have been able to
do this in part due
to the addition of
another 19
passenger seat
Toyota Coaster
which we added to
our fleet in
February.
I would like to thank our clients who donate
over and above the required fee for their
journey. Your donations are very gratefully
received and help us to operate more services,
which in turn help us to assist more people.
Our newly developed website went ‗live‘ a few
months ago. It is a device-responsive website
and can be viewed on a desktop, laptop, tablet
or smart phone. Clients can view our calendar,
make bookings, read blogs and challenge
themselves with the brain teasers! The
website, of course, is also an excellent starting
point for people wanting to learn about our
service. Our website can be found at
www.rhhct.org.au and you can also follow us on
Facebook – Ryde Hunters Hill Community
Transport.
Over the past two years some of our staff have
been working on Certificates III/IV in Driver
Operations, Logistics and Business
Administration. Well done to everyone who has
completed their course.
Use of our services has continued to increase
Annual Report 2015 7
with a sharp rise seen in providing transport to
medical appointments. Participation in our social
outings has also increased with the
commencement of monthly Saturday Mystery
Trips, and mid-week evenings out on the town.
Our Thursday picnic days have also proved
popular as they offer a low-cost, but enjoyable
day out. Friday seems to be the day to shop as
our shopping trips to Gladesville and Macquarie
Centre are booming and we are looking at ways
to increase capacity.
Earlier this year our Client Services
Officer, Teresa Urbanski, retired and
has been ably replaced by Robyn
Musgrave. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank Teresa for her
many years of service as a volunteer
driver, management committee
member and lastly as an office employee. I
welcome Robyn who has fitted into the
organisation seamlessly. I would also like to
welcome our new staff drivers, Naoto and
Joseph as well as volunteers Paul and Norman.
The lease for our premises at 6 Victoria Road,
Henley has been renewed for a further three
years. We have also had a ramp installed
enabling easier access to the building.
Thanks go to all the local community groups
who have partnered with us over the past year
in providing much needed transport services to
the residents of our area. In particular I would
like to thank the City of Ryde and Hunters Hill
Council for their personal interest and
promotion of our service, along with the
provision of small grants. We continue working
cooperatively with our neighbouring
Community Transport organisations as
we seek to provide an exemplary
service.
Our organisation appreciates the
support given by the staff at Transport
for NSW with respect to our ongoing
funding.
Finally thank you to all our clients. Your
support and encouragement throughout the
year makes our job worthwhile!

Treasurer’s Report
1. INTRODUCTION
I have great pleasure in presenting the
Treasurer‘s Report for the year ending 30th
June 2015. The financial accounts have
been duly audited by our auditors W.L.
Browne & Associates Pty Ltd as verified by
the attached Auditor‘s Report.
Following are the financial accounts as
presented by the auditor.
2. FINANCIAL RESULTS AS OF 30 June 2015
Income We can see the breakup of our income in
the Consolidated Profit and Loss with the
graph below representing those figures.
This graph highlights the fact that we are
very dependent on grants, in particular
Commonwealth Department of Social
Services for funds provided to us through
Transport for NSW.
We have sufficient reserves in place to
meet our vehicle replacement schedules
and staff entitlements provision.
Expenditure On the graph below you can see an
overview of our expenditure.
We are also pleased to say that 69% of
expenditure is directly related to service
provision.
3. CONCLUSION
This year end result, showing retained
earnings of $530,752 is an acceptable
amount to ensure our ongoing viability. I
am happy to report that Ryde Hunters Hill
Community Transport remains in a viable
financial position proceeding into the new
financial year.

―For the year ended 30 June 2015, some cost centres were dissected in comparison to the prior year
to provide more detailed information for users of the financial reports. As a result, prior year comparative information for these dissected cost centres could not be accurately provided. A
Consolidated Profit and Loss and Statement of Financial Position with full comparatives has been provided for the year ended 30th June 2015. In future years, it is expected that comparatives will
also be available for the detailed cost centre profit and loss reports.‖
Annual Report 2015 22
It has been another busy and productive year in
transport operations here at Ryde Hunters Hill
Community Transport. You will notice from our
statistics on page nine that we have increased
our passenger trips for the year by 2151 trips
and we have been able to reduce our unmet
requests by 157. The increase has been across
all our services but in particular, our individual
transport to medical appointments and our
group social outing service.
We have been able to increase our medical
transport largely due to the volunteers who
offer their time so humbly to the service. Some
volunteers drive their own cars and some drive
the new wagon we purchased back in February
2014.
The increase in clients attending our social
outings is due to a number of factors. The first
must be the programme itself, which is capably
put together by Robyn and Dianne who always
take time to listen to suggestions made by
clients and drivers alike. We have also been
able to increase our fleet with the addition of an
extra Toyota Coaster and again have volunteer
bus drivers on the team.
This year has seen us provide monthly Saturday
Mystery Trips, which have proved very popular
and provide clients with a chance to get out
over the weekend—a time that is often lonely
for them. In March we offered an overnight trip
to Kiama where we visited the blowhole, a
winery, a cheese factory and of course beautiful
Berry. It was so popular we are offering
another one in October. We have also operated
a couple of evening outings for those who
appreciate the city lights.
Other services proving popular are our Friday
shopping trips to Gladesville and Macquarie.
We are looking at ways to fulfil demand.
Of course our daily local Flexiride bus continues
to be busy and we still proudly assist groups
from culturally and linguistically diverse
backgrounds to access their social groups and
outings. We assist Armenian, Chinese, Italian,
Korean, and Sri Lankan groups.
Our clients often write to compliment us on our
service. Following are just a few!
―I would like to commend your drivers, Silvio &
Kevin, for their ‗over and beyond the call of
duty‘ …. They were attentive, helpful and
worked very hard…..‖ Elaine C.
―Many thanks to all the drivers and bus
assistants. They are so helpful and make our
days out wonderful and enjoyable. We feel
relaxed, safe and comfortable and they even
manage to keep us dry when it pours with rain.‖
Betty W.
Thank you for taking me to and from Concord
Hospital today. The office staff and drivers all
do a wonderful job and it is very much
appreciated.‖ Annette F.
―Thank you to Stav and Joseph for all the help
with my transport to Prince of Wales hospital. A
fantastic crew.‖ Neville L.
―Dear Virginia, I have been meaning to write
and let you know how good our Kiama trip was.
Stav, Denise and Bronwyn were all so kind and
helpful, I think everybody had
a lovely time. The idea of 2
nights & 3 days is great, as
when you are older a week of
days getting on and off buses
is very tiring. I hope we can
have some more short little
trips in the future.‖ Kath S.

Volunteers play a very important role in
Community Transport. Without them we would
not be able to offer our extensive range of
services.
We have drivers who
give a day or two
each week and who
tirelessly give of their
time. They are joined
by bus assistants who
assist clients with
their needs and have
a chat with them. Our office volunteers are
invaluable, helping answer calls and generally
assist with whatever is needed—including our
social program mail-out!
Thank you so much for your loyalty and

willingness to give so freely of your time is
appreciated by staff and clients alike.

Our Staff
Farewell/Welcome Firstly, we must say a very big thank you to Maureen Olson who has resigned from
the management committee after 13 years of service. Maureen also worked for us
for the preceding 8 years! We will miss your wealth of knowledge and your ability to
advocate on behalf of our clients and the organisation. Thank you from ALL of us.
This year we said goodbye to Joanne Deadman (Social Programme Volunteer) and
Teresa Urbanski who retired after 8 years, the last few she worked
as Client Service Officer, efficiently handling bookings along with
providing caring support to callers.
Welcome to Robyn Musgrave, who has taken up an administration
support role; to Naoto Suzuki and Joseph Widjaja, who both started as volunteers
and now drive casually for us. Special welcome to our new volunteers Paul Kelly
and Norman Leonard. You are all contributing to the team and enabling our
