Inaugural Session (10 AM -10:30 AM)
Department of Economics conducted a Economics Association Inauguration
(OECONOMICA’17) and a Seminar on Impact of GST Demonetisation on Indian
Economy on 7-11-2017, Tuesday in association with department of GST Government of
Kerala at Peevees Arcade Nilambur. The inaugural session presided by college Principal

welcome address. Dr Pramod K M, Principal in charge, Ambedkar College of Arts and
Science Wamdoor delivered special address. Mr. C H Ali Jahfar, Secretary, Staff Council
and Mr. Mebin P V, Chairman, College Union delivered felicitation for the program. Mr.
Amanudheen K, Secretary, Economics Association delivered vote of thanks for this
session.
Technical Session I (10:30 AM-12PM)
AN OVERVIEW OF GST IN KERALA
After the inaugural session technical session one on An Overview of GST in Kerala
started. The session chaired by Dr Abdul Nasar Valasseri, Head Department of
Economics MES College

this session. This Session discussed various angles of GST in Kerala and the session very
useful for students to know about various aspect of GST in Kerala
Technical Session II (12PM-01PM)
IMPACT OF GST ON DIFFERENT STAKEHOLDERS
The second technical session on impact of GST different stakeholders started at 12
o'clock. Dr Pramod K M, Principal in charge, Ambedkar College of Arts and Science
College chaired the session. Mr. Ajesh Babu Research Scholar TISS Mumbai led by the

for this session. This Session was
very useful for students to know
about impact of GST in different
stakeholders.
Technical Session III (2:00 PM-03:30 PM)
THE LOOMING CRISIS IN INDIAN ECONOMY
The third session on the looming crisis in Indian Economy started on 2:00 p.m. Abbas

session. The session was very useful for audience for grasping about Looming Crisis in
Indian Economy.
The Seminar was very useful to the students of economics as it helped them to derive
some empirical insights to the theoretical knowledge they already has in various subjects
like Micro Economics, Public Finance
and Banking. The Seminar has been
progressed through three main
technical sessions. Session four were
also included for general comments
by the participant, feedback and
valedictory .The Seminar Concluded
